AVALON is proud to announce that we will be hosting Resident Advisor’s first ever US Tour featuring Ame and Dixon. Over the years, Resident Advisor has been the top online resource worldwide for up to date and relevant information about dance music which has helped shape and influence today’s scene. At Avalon we have also worked very hard to expose Los Angeles and the West Coast to music and DJ’s that deserve to be heard. So when the opportunity came along to host the RA show with deep house doyen Dixon, whose 2007 RA podcast was voted the third best of the year, and Kristian Beyer of Ame, whose Fabric mix is one of the years standout mix albums, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for this Friday night special event. We’ve included links below to 2 outstanding mixes by these artists.
They are joined in the main room with an opening set by Avalon residents, Droog, who have been a major influence and have had a huge impact on the Los Angeles dance music scene in 2008. Be on the look out for what these guys have in store for upcoming years. Closing out this night is Los Angeles based act, Acid Circus, who over the years have pushed the underground music in an uncompromising fashion that many of you know through their Droid Behavior parties. Recent Chicago transplant, Lee Foss, whom many of you will be hearing a lot about in the near future, provides the music in Honey.
