    This week at Avaland, one of the technos rising stars, Jamie Jones, returns to Avalon for the first time since July 2007. An artist for high profile labels like Crosstown Rebels, Cocoon, Get Physical, Poker Flat, and Freak N’ Chic, Jamie’s sound has progressed to reflect the best qualities in deep house and minimal techno.

    A lot has changed for the London based dj/producer in the last year and a half, as he has stepped forward from an established producer and east London party promoter to become one of the hottest commodities on the global house/techno dj circuit. 2008 has seen perhaps the biggest strides, especially here in the U.S. where much talked about dates in Miami during WMC, Oslo in Detroit during DEMF, and several high profile and wildly successful Standard rooftop dates here in Los Angeles have given him a buzz of real star quality.

    The latter part of 2008 has also seen the debut of Jamie’s live set, the release of hugely popular singles 911 (Crosstown Rebels) and Kaskazi (Get Physical) along with a slew of remix work, and preparation for his highly anticipated debut artist album on Crosstown Rebels which includes the much talked about single, Summertime. Expect a bouncy mix of house, techno, and electronic funk, with a consistent groove.

    Spaniard Paco Osuna has also had a big year. He proved his mettle in the Beatport tent at DEMF, and has created a similar buzz as one of techno’s future starts. His releases on Plus 8, like Orbeat and Transheet, are a good representation of his dark, but funky sound and pairing Paco with Jamie showcases two of the strongest elements of Techno’s new guard.

    San Francisco based Listed resident Nikita will open the night, and Los Angeles based Chicago transplant Lee Foss will close the night. Honey Lounge will feature music by the Music Savages, and an art show from 10pm – 12am.
