Vertigo Meets Halo Promo at the Ministry of Sound

On the 27th of May, Bank Holiday Sunday two of the capital’s most established promoters Halo Promo and Vertigo join forces to create the biggest collaborations London has seen for years. This event will be held at the newly refurbished Ministry of Sound. This night will showcase the very best of the deep, jacking, electro, minimal and funky house through 4 rooms.

The Box features a huge line up from Italy including the Godfather of Italian house and international superstar, DJ Ralf. In his distinguished career Ralf has played at many world famous venues and parties from Ibiza’s We Love Sundays at Space to Italy’s Tenax club and everything in between. Leading Italian DJ magazine “Discoid” rates him as “one of the best DJ’s ever”, therefore his inclusion on the bill promises to make Halo and Vertigo’s first collaboration a very special event indeed. In addition to Ralf we also present another legendary Italian DJ in the form of Ricky Montanari. Ricky made a real name for himself when he established Italy’s first after hour parties at venues such as the legendary Diabolilka’s and Vae Victis, which DJ Mag voted one of the best clubs in the world. Today Ricky is one of the biggest DJ’s in Italy so we can’t wait to hear him on the Ministry’s huge sound system. Vertigo residents Micky Galliano and Julius complete the line up in the box. Micky’s a highly versatile and extremely talented DJ. In addition to his DJ skills Micky also produces under the pseudonym Vibe Junction, with recent releases being signed by prominent US label Harlequin. His latest project “Violent Science” has seen him collaborate with Marc Almond as he continues to forge an ever increasing successful career. Julius has played all over the world through out his DJ career. He’s toured with Ministry, played highly respected underground nights in London such as Codex, and huge promotions in Ibiza such as Made in Italy and Subliminal. All in all Julius caps an extremely strong line up in the box that rivals any bank holiday party in London, but it doesn’t stop there…

The line up in the bar is just as impressive with long standing DC10 former resident and “2006 Ibiza Electro DJ of the Year” Jo Mills. Jo has graced the decks at the biggest clubs in the world including DC10, Space, Amnesia, Privilege and El Divino to name just a few. She is now a Vertigo resident too. Joining Jo we are also very pleased to welcome Rob Mello who has graced Vertigo’s decks lots of times already and is one of Europe’s favourite djs. Halo residents Chris Hartnet and Monkey Roberts complete the line up in the bar. Chris and Monkey have helped build Halo into one of the most successful and longest running parties in London and are two exceptional talents. They bring Halo’s unique sound to the Ministry on the 27th of May making this the only party worth attending!

The Lounge bar features the very best in funky soulful house. Halo Promo built their brand off the back of their exceptional synergy of DJ’s and live musicians, incorporating electric lead guitar, sax and percussion into all their nights and creating a truly unique signature sound. On the 27th this room features Halo residents Loud Minority and Jason Sears alongside musicians Tom Caris, Kevin Reynolds and Russ Tarley Junior. Loud Minority are also residents at Europe’s largest street party The Notting Hill Carnival and completely rocked The Ministry on New Years Day so we can’t wait to get them back behind the decks on the 27th of May. Jason Sears is Halo’s longest serving resident DJ and is a specialist in the soulful house genre. He came 1st in the Millennium DJ MAG DJ competition beating 1000’s of entries and winning a New Years Eve set at world famous club Pacha in Ibiza. If you like the silkier vocal side to house then this is definitely the room for you.

As two highly respected promoters, Vertigo and Halo Promo are committed to bringing our members the very best up and coming DJ’s and producers the industry has to offer. With this in mind the baby box features Dave Sandford, Johnny Blanco, Salvo Benardi and Neil Parkes. Salvo Benardi started his career as recently as 2003 however he has quickly gained a following of loyal and committed fans. Since his first set at So Bar in Fulham only a few years ago he has already had the honour of playing live on The Ministry of Sounds Radio station. Salvo kicks things off in the baby box playing electro and deep house before we take things dirtier and darker as we move through the night. Dave Sandford is regarded as a real name on the deep electro and minimal tech scene with two years residency at Space Ibiza already under his belt. Neil Parkes is another rising star and has already played alongside minimal heavyweights such as Clive Henry in his short but burgeoning career. His residency at the highly credible underground Nottingham based night Below has cemented his reputation as a genuine up and coming talent and is sure to be a very big name in the future. Johnny Blanco is fast gaining a huge amount of credibility in London with his trademark deep techno and minimal style. His inclusion on the bill promises to keep the baby box distinctly underground all night long.

Both Halo Promo and Vertigo are now in our 8th year, making our nights two of the most established independent parties in the industry. By joining forces we aim to set a new standard for bank holiday parties and look forward to bringing something fresh and exciting to club land.

On Bank Holiday Sunday the 27th of May, this is definitely the only place to be. Halo meets Vertigo…the Ministry of Sound has never sounded so good!!
