ROOM TWO: Kenny Hawkes (20:20 Vision), Digs (DiY), Dan Foat (Lyme.fm)

For concession Guestlist mail journeysegg@hotmail.co.uk with ‘HMF’ in the subject line

    ROOM ONE:

ROBERT OWENS continues his residency down at Egg, with more of the best in truly underground house sounds. In the main room, Owens flaunts an array of styles gleaned from his DJing across the globe, taking the crowd from disco into deep, deep into funky, funky into electro, electro into minimal and back again. Emphasis in the main room is on the dance & the party.

Support comes from Sonar Kollectiv’s Frank Wiedemann (one half of uber hot German kings, AME, (pronounced ahm from the French for soul, even if most of us call them a-may). For those few of you that havent heard any of their releases, some of which already deserve classic status, their productions join the dots between Detroit techno, German minimal and Parisian / NYC deep house. Their remix of Rodamaals Insomnia on Buzzin Fly is tipped to be one of this summer’s major underground anthems – also look out for a forthcoming collaboration with Robert Owens on his new album
and as one of the most in-demand producers/DJs, we can expect the duo to reach even greater heights. Ames DJ sets demonstrate a similar blend of styles and are also gaining the plaudits – expect something special from a master of seductive sounds.

VERSTRATEN FASHION LIVE – each month at Egg, live fashion/performance art/dance – call it what you will, it features the designs of Sandra Verstraten. After assisting Julien Macdonald for four seasons, she now works on various freelance projects, including Journeys. The collections on display are stylish, fun and colourful, combining playful designs with bold colours. For June 2nd Journeys, the Barbarella comic cartoon is the influence, with acid coloured fabrics knotted into sexy dresses.

    ROOM TWO:

KENNY HAWKES has now achieved global status as one of the world’s leading exponents of house music, with a string of acclaimed productions on labels such as MFF, 2020 Vision and NRK, as well as regularly headlining at the world’s leading clubs. Most recently Kenny has teamed up with David Parr to produce exclusive tracks for 20:20 Vision. The pair are being touted as one of the hottest new production partnerships around, producing insanely
catchy electronic house music that is deep and melodic, crossing the electro deep- and tech-house divides. As fashions change and music evolves, Kenny has established himself as one of the most respected and consistently creative house DJs in the world. His sets always have an air of quality, flowing through different styles – modern soul / jackin house / minimal tech /
Detroit techno and marking him as a true house DJ with depth and soul.

Alongside Kenny on the middle floor, DIGS, founding member of legendary Nottingham deep house label DiY. Digs travels the world spreading the DiY vibe, which is maybe best described as hedonistic deep house dementia. Usually accompanied by his long term sidekick Woosh, tonight Digs will be on his tod dropping it deep like only he knows how.

DAN FOAT is emerging as one of the UK’s leading up & coming house DJs. Long-time resident at Bristol’s Fruity Antics, he was the only house DJ invited onto the 2006 BBC Radio 1xtra tour, and is kept busy producing his own show for Lyme.fm, playing at their parties at Lovebox, AKA and beyond, as well as the fortnightly Tricky Disco with Nick Harris from NRK and Matt Annis from i-DJ. Expect an eclectic mix of the freshest underground house & nu disco.

Pre-party @ Canal 125, hosted by Hear no Evil http://www.hnoe.co.uk
