A51, as it is now known, turns two on March 6th, and it
marks another milestone in the club’s already solid history.
The Manchester venue – formerly known as Area 51 – was
once a dingy club playing host to some big name DJs, but
is now a polished night spot where house music serves as
the back drop to some packed out events for like-minded
party people.
Nowhere, held weekly at the club, is a night which aims to
plug the vast gap between the dead dirty underground and
the squeaky clean overground. Club owner Tony Ratcliff is
responsible for the Nowhere brand, and has splashed out
on a whole new look recently. He’s improved seating and
decor, and you can now expect a focus on videos and
imagery, whilst if you need a break, slope off to The Bar
where groovier, nu-disco beats percolate for your listening
pleasure: all in all, it means A51 is now a shining light in
Manchunian club world.
On March 6th the famed Bora Bora Spiderman dancer will
be flown over to help blow out the Birthday candles – he
has to be seen to be believed!
So, if you haven’t already, there’s been no better time to
check out A51…
