I opened up quicktime today and it had a link to a listening party for All About the Girl’s new CD “Adapt or Die: 10 Years of Remixes”.

    Here’s the link: http://www.rhino.com/fun/listeningparties/79683_PartyPlayer. lasso

You can listen to this one and see if you agree with me.
I wish more artists would put their albums online to sample.
That would curb a lot of boot legging.
    But that’s another story . . . . .

    It’s pretty cool.
They did a BossaNova-esque take on “Walking Wounded” which is the highlight for me.
    It’s very downtempo, very relaxing.
    Nothing gimmicky.
It’s real songs with real hooks, they’re just using electronica as instrumentation.

    Very little ambient keyboards here.
Think more in the realm of trip-hop.
    Like Gotan Project or Morcheeba.

The tempo is varied enough for the CD not to put me to sleep halfway through.
Not a lot of chillout CDs can do that.

    Definitely recommend this one.
