MANCHESTER’S NEWEST UNDERGROUND VENUE *SUB61* OPENING PARTY.

    SUB61 CLUB

Artillery Street (Off Deansgate near El Rincon and Ampersand)

    Manchester

    M3 3HN

Anti:Clockwise presents the SUB61 Club opening party with KANIO & SAYTEK
    Live (ZOO PROJECT)

So, we can let the secret out: there’s a fresh new night storming the
underground Manchester scene on 3rd October. It will have an army of no
nonsense techno wax by its side, and a new underground venue behind it, as
tonight also sees the grand opening of Sub 61.

The perfectly sized 600 capacity confines of the new club has enough space in
which to set yourself free, but without feeling too big and impersonal, and
it’s 20k sound system will puncture every nook and cranny of the club to make
sure it never stops bouncing. With bookings well below the radar and two solid
residents, Anti: Clockwise shoots, and scores, in its mission to bring forward
thinking music, to forward thinking people.

Giving the shoulder to any trending sounds and instead hoeing a solid techno
furrow, Anti: Clockwise means business from the off with Kanio and Saytek their
inaugural guests. Kanio’s heavy, rolling bottom ends are flecked with twisted
digital futurism and forge ahead taking anyone listening with them. His remix
and production work often tops charts over at beatport, his gig schedule takes
in Leeds’ Victoria Works and London’s Egg, and he’s someone you need to hear.

Saytek’s fans include Digweed, Garnier and Cox, his diary includes visits to
mUmU Liverpool, Zoo Project Ibiza and Sankeys Manchester, and he is a
technology freak. His obsessive love of hardware see’s him rocking up at clubs
with groove boxes, synths, Kaos pads and various other noise mangling gadgets
before arranging, re-sampling, and tweaking filters, layering effects, muting
and mixing sounds together on the fly.

As well as that, Cahman, Andy Shaw, Chan & Smith and Dave Fitton serve up
more electronic bombs for you to knock back with some serious shapeshifting.

With such sonic delights awaiting, it’s a good job there’s such a good
soundsystem in place, ready and waiting to welcome a new set of eager,
in-the-know clubbers. With designs like these it’d be wise to get involved from
the start, as Anti: Clockwise set to grow into something pretty special, such
is the experience and enthusiasm of the chaps behind it.
