Manchester, arguably the North’s coolest city with a diverse, exciting
and world-class music scene, gained an incredible new acquisition in
2008. AREA 51, with it’s immense Funktion One sound system,
unique layout and décor, and a future line up list that would make
any of its rival clubs weep (Mr. C, Hot Chip, M.A.N.D.Y and Jesse
Rose to name a few) is heading into 2009 with its sights set high.
Prepare to be taken on a journey through techno, electro and every
kind of house you could imagine, and the biggest promotions and
international artists around elbowing each other off the decks.
Providing a different sound on Friday night’s, including electro and
uplifting house, and on Saturdays venturing into deep house, techno
an progressive house, the club will cater for all crowds and genres.
With only one vital requirement: high quality, boundary free music.
This Friday (27th) Elektrik Playground are stopping by and bringing
with them hedonistic Aussie electro house trio, Vandalism, fresh from
a US tour to thrill the crowd with their unique take on post punk 80’s
electronic madness.
Before Saturdays sees boundary breaking James Lavelle taking you
on a journey through every genre with unapologetic style and force.
With it’s tunnel shaped main room creating the perfect setting for
some deep, dark underground mayhem, huge smoking terrace, ice
cannons, projector, and endlessly cool and diverse crowds, AREA 51
is single handedly evolving the Manchester music scene into
something a whole lot more exciting.
