Aybee returns with a peek into his forthcoming East Oakland Space Program
album with a tribute to Ossie Davis. One of the most pivotal figures in the
African American experience. With a life long commitment to the Arts,
and the Civil Rights struggle Ossie Davis along with actress wife Ruby Dee,
served as beacons of light to ensuing generations of black artists. Always
remembered for his presence, and dignity, Davis had the unfortunate job
of providing the eulogy for Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.
With this jam Aybee hopes to give respect, and eulogy to a spirit who’s
commitment to struggle serves as continual inspiration. Laced with and
powerful foot and ethereal chords Aybee paints a lifetime as
he sees it. Laying down a robust 4/4 groove that commands the
soul to move.
On side B.) Ron Trent builds on the vibration with his tribute mix laced
with additional percussion and keys. Adding ancestral healing along with
homage to the mix. Transcendent oscillations of the Future Vision mode no doubt.
