BATTLE OF THE REMIXERS – VOL 1 * Whistle –
    Just Buggin’ *

    Released
    14th March

    Champion
Records presents a brand new remix series for 2011, featuring classic back-catalogue
releases that have never been remixed or re-released before.

    Through handpicking
great tracks from their 30-year history and requesting some of their favourite
remixers to give them ‘the’ treatment, this is one not to be missing out on!

    And the
series kicks off in great fashion with the hip-hop classic “Just Buggin’“, by Whistle, originally released back
    in 1986.

A Skillz, a remixer known for his
notorious sound-system and full-on party DJ-sets, comes onboard, taking the central
element from the original and livening it up with an electric-pulse bassline
and some expertly-handled deck-wizardry, available in full-vocal and dub-form (without
doubt, THE party anthem of 2011!)

    Going
    head-to-head, Calvertron (aka
Alex Calver) steps up with not one but TWO remixes. His ‘Electro Bass Mix’ incorporates
the sound he’s most accomplished with – crazy basslines, driving 4×4 beats, and
vocal cut-ups. He also provides an exceptional dubstep rendition of the track –
think of his remix of Figure’s “I’ll Show You Bass” and multiply it by 100 (yes,
expect Alex to be conquering the Dubstep world this year!).

    And to bring
things to a close is the original 12-inch version – but fully remastered.
