    IBIZAN BITCH

For close to three years Bitch has resided in Manchester, studiously

going about its house and electro duties. Often popping up amongst

the top ten Northern nights in DJ Mag, and with an always on-point

mix of fresh talent (think H2) and established entertainers (step

forward Jon Carter) alike, the Bitch gaggle is doing Ibiza in 2009.

It’s no mean feat to host regular discos in the birthplace of acid

house euphoria – and to get invited back – but Bitch regularly nailed it

at Manchester’s Sankeys: a venue which has initiated and inspired

generations of ravers the world over. Whilst DJs like Micky Slim and

Funkagenda are their electro staple at home, Bitch bespoke

themselves for the White Isle, instead twisting to a more carnival

spirited house and techno beat. Summer guests will include bouncy

tech-house fiend, Kate Lawler, and resident Dutchman, Mason: a man

who’s gotten on the right side of Deep Dish’s Sharam, Fatboy Slim

and dance don Pete Tong for his remix work. Not shy on the effects

box, Mason’s sure to keep the dance floor locked throughout the

summer season with hot 12s of his own, and scorching wax from the

    best of the rest.

Also featuring will be San Francisco’s Josh Gabriel (of 90s ‘& Dresden’

fame who in ‘07 and ‘08 won the WMC award for ‘Best DJs’) with his

bag of synth heavy house and techno tracks; Oliver Lang, a chunky

and jacking man who acutely tailors his sets according to the dance

floor vibe – be he spinning at Judgment Sundays, Bora Bora or

Ministry Of Sound – and who sites Danny Tenaglia as an main

influence; and Oliver Giacomotto, an electro house producer who

regularly tops the Beatport charts for his unhinged and original take

on our beloved 4/4 sound. The likes of Carl Cox and Mistress

Barbara support Giacomotto’s tunes, and he regularly teams up with

EDM legend John Acquaviva for studio work.

Having consistently laced the basement of Sankeys with driving

rhythms from dance music’s top few, it’s no wonder Bitch has an

unadulterated party vibe and loyal following: one which it will no

doubt transplant to newly refurbed Ibizan home, BoHo.

Each Tuesday of summer 09 the crew will get amongst the eccentric,

circular themed interior and opulently decorated confines of BoHo for

proper a session. With fairly priced drinks, entry capped at 20 Euros

and a state of the art light and sound installation; the new San

Antonio venue will be a wise choice for any in-the-know dance heads.

With its place in history already affirmed – having long hosted

worker’s parties beyond official closing time as the Extasis venue –

BoHo aims to put the punter first. Not bad for a rock which normally

likes to sap as much money from your bank account, as it does

    moisture from your lobster skin.
