Like Lisa Stansfield, DJ Tony Wilson’s been around the world. This Brooklyn born but Miami residing DJ was randomly discovered by an overseas promoter while Djing in a club, one gig led to two, four and then more. In the style of John Robinson, Darryl DFA James and Tony Humphries before him, Tony Wilson keeps it soulful, keeps it vocal and keeps it uptempo. For New Year’s Eve Tony played an exclusive VIP gig in Tokyo, earlier gigs this year included Panasia Beach in Sicily. When he’s not DJing, Tony is a a real CSI, or as he likes to call himself, a Crime Scene Reconstructionist. Here’s DJ Tony Wilson in his own words.

Avoid the politics first and foremost, and hope to meet a promoter whose interested in booking them because of their skills, not because their name is on a record.
