Brighton’s House Music Soldier
Born and bred Brighton DJ Russell Ruckman is one of the very few DJ’s in town specialising in proper house music of the deep, soulful, funky & jackin variety.
Russell’s first DJ experiences started at the very young age of 10 playing classic house, soul and hip hop at youth club disco’s, Growing up as a teenager in the early nineties Russell was heavily influenced by the likes of Bobby & Steve, Tony Humphries, Masters At Work, Gilles Peterson, Joey Negro plus his biggest inspiration Paul Trouble Anderson.
Russell’s played all over the country for some of the biggest promotions alongside some of the biggest names on the scene including Sy Sez & Gavin Peters from The Aphrodisiax, Karizma, Paul Trouble Anderson, Aaron Ross & Neil Pierce from The Fanatix, Lady Duracell, Grant Nelson, Pablo Martinez, Victor Simonelli, Bobby & Steve, Spen, Sarah Favouritizm & CJ Mackintosh.
If you like your house music this is one DJ you must check out, Russell has his own unique sound, mixing the old with the new, soulful with the jackin, from deep and melodic through to some bouncy bumping beats.
