October 1st breaks new boundaries within the Leeds infamous
clubbing culture, with stalwart Detroit label Planet E making their very
first outing at the cities beloved O2 Academy Leeds. Carl Craig’s
legendary imprint is among the top labels in the world with releases
from major players like Kenny Larkin, Kevin Saunderson,
Moodymann and Martin Buttrich to name a few. Carls love ventured
further into the musical realms when he created his Innerzone
Orchestra, which was one of the highlights of the festival season in
2009. As well as this his live performances with pianist Francesco
Tristano at We Love Space, Ibiza which pushed the boundaries of live
dance music to the next level.
To mark the first ever Planet E party in Leeds Carl will be teaming up
with label co-wart and local artist Paul Woolford. Paul also needs no
introduction, but he sure deserves one. Paul has gone from strength
to strength in the last five years, paving the path with now classic hit
‘Erotic Discourse’ onto album ‘The Truth’, his residency at We Love
Space, Ibiza and releasing on one of techno’s finest labels Planet E.
This year saw Paul release a double CD for Renaissance as well as
continued work on his beloved imprint Intimacy.
In order to celebrate the first ever Planet E Party in Leeds we have
teamed up with Juno, Planet E and Paul Woolford to give away a free
digital copy of his latest release “Satire†with every on line ticket
purchased.
“Satire†will be released exclusively for the Planet E Party and was
originally produced and accepted for release by the legendary R&S
label. Paul pulled the release and kept hold of the track until now. It’s
quite an ethereal, deep and a very musical piece echoing the
eruptions both from the Detroit and the European electronic scene.
