DJs have gone from being underpaid live jukeboxes to becoming premier entertainers, producers, businessmen, and musicians capable of commanding admiration from thousands and earning serious money.

What do u think about this?

Well I’m a dj to, so I’m naturally very happy about this. In my country
dj’s earn really shit money. It’s more like a hobby. If you look at
vinyl record prices, and compare it to earnings, you’ll start to laugh.
    🙂

My idea is to become a producer and musician in the future too. I think
that lots of dj’s think of it. And if good money go the same way…

    Than it’s even better…

A DJ will first and foremost DJ for passion.. If there’s no passion it most certainly comes through in the set they play or the music they produce and the punters are the first to see that. I doubt any DJ gets into it for the money as when you first start out you spend way way more than you earn. Although there has been ridiculous amounts paid for DJ’s, for example Carl Cox, I would say if you compare it with other professions and you take into consideration money spent on records, time spent mixing, travel costs etc that the majority of DJ’s are quite underpayed.

A good set is worth a million dollars to any DJ who gives punters a night out to remember in his heart, however a job is a job and they should be paid accordingly.
