While todays young house music upstarts trainspot every rekkid Tony, Frankie & Louie play, BounceFM.Com turns its attention to the business side of music via a profile of Mo Pho. Mo Pho has successfully, but more importantly, profitably, bridged the gap between electronic music and today’s advertisers including Saturn, T Mobile and Playstation. MoPho works with a variety of composers and producers including Felix da Housecat, Gavin Hardkiss, Ming and FS, Michael Moog, and Gabriel Rene. This is the Mo Pho story.

On a level, dance/electronica is the musical language of this generation that was raised on video games (from Pac Man to Quake). Electronic music is still fresh, still dynamic and still re-inventing itself, and it is these qualities lend themselves naturally to the advertising environment . . .

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ASPIRING AND ESTABLISHED MUSICIANS WHO’D LIKE TO PLACE THEIR MUSIC IN GAMING AND COMMERCIALS?

. . . the factors we consider are: *quality of production – does it sound like it could be on TV or games right now?? – *range / versality – is this hip hop producer only able to make one beat?? .. and when we meet with them, we are strongly influenced by how well they can communicate musical ideas to non-musicians . . .
