Velizar? – (In Progress Headliner – Electronica/House/Techno)
One of the first DJs in Eastern Europe region to fight for the
popularization of electronic music in the mid 90’s, Velizar? began his
DJ career in Bulgaria at the tender age of 14. By 15, he had
developed a passion for electronic music and was a full time DJ,
playing across the country. He held residencies at the legendary
Country Club on the beach in Sozopol, as well as at the Chervilo,
Cutty Sark, and Kampione Clubs in Sofia. He played alongside such
legends as John Digweed and sven vath. Since 2003, Velizar has
been actively involved in the NYC underground music scene with
residencies at Midway, Click, Highline, Café Deville, Moomia, and has
participated in various parties and events in Miami, Chicago, San
Francisco, Mexico City, Berlin, London, and Barcelona. Currently,
Velizar? is the headline DJ and music director for In Progress, and
holds the residency for Elegantly Wasted Saturdays with Velizar? @
Vault in the Lower East Side.
Astrid Suryanto – (Elegantly Wasted Resident Artist – deep
house/tech house/techno)

Astrid Suryanto has a story
like no other, with a personality and sound to match. Born February
7th, 1982 and raised in Sumatra, Indonesia, with one channel on the
TV and monkeys running across the roof, she now inhabits a studio in
New York where she writes and produces an array of electronica,
having captured the imagination of big name DJs, industry figures
and the public alike. Her recent releases have propelled her
repeatedly into the BBC Radio1 Dance Charts, Billboard Dance
Charts, and successful compilation series alongside leading electronic
artists.

Astrid moved to New York after she was snapped up by Statra
Recordings and Victor Calderone, a renowned producer, remixer and
DJ in demand with Madonna, Sting, Beyonce, Garbage, Goldfrapp,
and many others. In her element, writing, composing, performing
and producing all of her own music and lyrics, she began releasing
records that emanate her contradictory style — fiercely strong yet
beautifully delicate, vocals that are simultaneously raw yet polished,
heart breaking lyrics set against ecstatically uplifting chords and
beats. From Acid Jazz to House to Electronic to Rock, Astrid’s
versatile talent has given her the freedom to explore all genres of
music. Her future schedule includes a chain of releases with her new
partner, DJ Yellow of the highly respected Yellow Productions. DJ
Yellow & Astrid Suryanto’s first full length album, “Intermission”, is
due out winter 07/08.
Bruce Tantum – (December Guest DJ – Electronic House)
DJ Bruce Tantum has been involved in the downtown NYC music
scene for a long-time; so long, in fact that he and his no-wave
minimalist-pop band Moot were regular fixtures at such long-defunct
legendary venues as the Mudd Club, Danceteria and the Peppermint
Lounge. The band’s spectacular non-success led Bruce to toss out his
bass guitar and pick up the Technics; he soon began spinning a mix
of oddball disco and early house. Since then, he’s played at pretty
much every club, lounge and scuzzed-out basement and warehouse
that the city has to offer – as well as in London, San Francisco, Miami,
Chicago, Switzerland, Belgium and elsewhere – mainly spinning
selections from the more dubbed-out end of deep house, tech-house
and techno. By day, Bruce can usually be found chained to his desk,
toiling away as clubs editor for Time Out NY magazine.
Capachoca – (Special live Appearance – Indie/Electro/Thrash)
“No pretentions, no technical difficulties, but TIGHT, FUN and with
200% ENERGY!” Capacocha is like a ship in stormy water, ADHD is
nothing compared to it! And this ship knows how to party. The trashy
guitars, funky grooving bass, cheesy organs, danceable (electro-
)beats/drums and gray 50s vocals form, together with these stage-
animals on the loose, a pumping set of electro-rock&rolla-
outacontrolla! SACRIFICE FOR PARTY!
What initially started out as a solo-project in July 2006, quickly
became a rocking dancemachine
of significant power. As Capa, Rene goes bezerk on virtually every
instrument that passes his sight and live he is backed-up by Robin
Haandrikman on bass and Bertram Jansen on drums. A first EP will
be recorded at the end of 2007.
December 1st show at Vault wraps up Capachoca’s U.S. East Coast
Tour. After this, it will start to record its first EP in The Netherlands.
