With only a week between the Filth 2nd Birthday parties, recovery
time is short! Filth returns to Manchester for another one-off chaotic
party at the city’s most famous clubbing institution this side of the
Hacienda, Sankeys. Featuring yet another stella line-up of cutting
edge musical mite, Filth present the Italian fidget/tech-house
dominator, Riva Starr, fresh from his recent accolade of the No.20
position in IDJ Magazine ‘Players of the Year’ chart. Following a
worthy mention of becoming an almost overnight superstar from
releases on labels such as Front Room Recordings and Claude Von
Stroke’s Dirty Bird, Riva’s previous music has been integral to recent
signings to ever-important stalwart house labels including Southern
Fried and Jesse Rose’s Made To Play. With the likes of Riva and
previous Filth guest Mowgli pushing their alternative take on twisted
fidget house, expect a full frontal takeover as Riva builds the main
room into a dancing frenzy!
Zombie Disco Squad should need no introduction to the true dance
music enthusiasts and hardcore ravers amongst you. Often linked
with helping spread the current sound of fidget house across the UK,
Z.D.S have since become synonymous for pushing an alternative,
more techy version of the current favourite media pigeon hole. As
previous pioneers of the once underground Miami Bass and Baile
Funk sounds, (shortly before the likes of Switch picked up the sound
to produce chart topping MIA’s album), the lads are ever absorbing
local aural flavours of the countries they visit into their constantly
evolving DJ sound. Expect a super-fresh intake of all things off-side,
bouncy and down right dirty as the Zombie Disco Squad take you to
a place of musical madness.
Bolstering up the headline acts are newly crowned favourites of Filth,
The Loose Cannons! With a recent performance at Mint Club in Leeds,
decked out in full fancy dress, their rip-roaring wonky electro sound
had the crowd clambering over each other to get down the front to
witness the ensuing aural carnage fronted by their wacky DJing style.
Currently in the studio working on a new album with their band,
blogging for the Pepsi Max Cast on MySpace plus presenting their
weekly London radio show on Kiss FM, come and catch two of the
busiest names in dance music as the Cannons stop off for their only
Manchester appearance this winter, as Filth takes the chaos of the
last two years up another level!
Filth residents Dale Castell and Eddi Zanetti will be on main room
support duties providing quality warm-up and post-headline sets
across the humongous Phazon soundsystem. Leeds-based Filth
favourite, David Hulme, heads up the Sankeys bar with wholesome
flavours of groovy deep house and techno. Amongst the Filth dancing
girls and smiley ravers, hedonistic chaos of epic birthday proportions
is on the cards! Come get involved in what is guaranteed to be a
roadblock party as we once again combine forces with Manchester’s
favourite underground club, Sankeys, as Filth, the ‘northern house
phenomenon’ (DJ Magazine) turns two this February.
