Filth’s May Bank holiday ends with a boom this year when Filth
favourites The Loose Cannons, London Fidget House duo Hijack as
well as Beatport named one to watch Brooklyn bass merchant AC
Slater all get involved on Sunday May 24th at The Mint Club. With
bookings like this is crystal clear to see why Filth are Mixmag’s best
club night in the country for May and hosting rooms for people like
Carl Cox at Space, Ibiza. Expect the usual fidget fuelled hedonistic
house sounds to be rattled through the Funktion 1 sound system at
the Mint!
The Loose Cannons are no strangers to the hallowed decks at Filth.
Their new slot on KissFM has been beginning to raise notoriety
displaying a fest of all things turbo-charged filthy, squelchy, and buzz
saw B-lined of a bastardised, bass funk nature. They’ve done remix
work for the likes of Lady Gaga, Roisin Murphy, Justice, Cassette
Jam, The Mighty Boosh, Sunday Best, & Speech Debelle injecting
their filthy styles in downright dirty manner! Making their 1st
appearance at Filth is Potty Mouth Music duo Hijack! HiJack’s recent
inclusions on the Potty Mouth Music roster are homage to the wobbly
melodies and chunky beats that give their music a roll and bounce.
Inspired by the influential likes of DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Dave
Taylor and Jacob London, HiJack has already set themselves from
apart from the production masses embracing the fidget house sound.
Joining them will be AC Slater! AC Slater has been making tidal sized
waved across the fidget house scene of late and has also recently set
up a new record label, ‘Party Like Us Records’ , is based out of
Brooklyn, NY. The mission with .Party Like Us’ is to release dance
floor friendly tracks that incorporate all kinds of classic dance music
elements with a creative and original edge. Basically, they like heavy
bass that pounds and drives the dance floor.
As ever at Filth the party is set to go off especially with a line up of
the proportions illustrated above which is to be complemented by
Filth’s ever faithful rising star filled resident team.
