For those who are familiar with
the Acid Ripping Original Throwdown by Kink & Mieka Du Franx
The Black Moon Mixes are served-up with much to choose from-
(4) Mixes of House.Tech-House.Techno.Minimal
Phonic.Lab (Italy) hits the boom for a pulsating mix that takes the
pony for a ride on the back of a wild horse. With the vocal in a field
of hypnotic sounds and a bossy double-banded bass line, this bitch
rides high in 6th gear. Steady cruising; Phonic.lab lets the vocal take
the lead in the groove, drops the vibe down into a straight hitting,
tight bender. Made to bump on any system, drop this baby for peak-
time madness and watch the grind begin. Bravo to the Italian duo for
making Beatport’s top 100 on the Minimal Charts.
Marius(Belgium)
Deep and techy with a nu disco flip, Marius (from Mayaku) brews up
a fresh house blend with a slap bass, sweet chords, and of course
some more cow-bell. The dig on the square bass is super funky,
along with a call and answer build up on the chords that are laid out
for a stereo presence that leads into a bridge of deep rapture. A
tight, sift ride takes the lead along with the thick of the vocal,
together crafting deliverance that commands a vibe that’s deep,
tight, smooth, and transcendent. Marius transmits a full spirited
house groove.
88Bit] (Cologne, DE)
With his signature kick- thumping, jumping, and largely hitting, 88Bit
sets the pace for maximum. Slowly winding up for a nasty, wobbling
banger, 88Bit uses some sweet juice to pump for the pulp. His
filtered wizard formula whips & burns this baby to the moon. The
volume is cranked coz the track is smoking with some freaky high-
grade fuel. Top-notch for more bang in the bassbin, bring it baby!!
Mr_Barcode (Chicago Sanitarium, US) & DuFreaka (Lower Eastside
Vancouver, BC) turns over a punchy techno cut, arranged with rolling
percussions and a dominant bass line that thunders thru an
atmosphere of electric zaps and cosmic drops. Sparsely placed are
claps, fuzzy static, and tubular fills. Breathing chords add a nu
dimension that press for more feeling. Barcode & Du Freaka mold the
mix front to back with a spongy glaze until the cream rises and the
speaker blows.
