Felinephonix Music is back with Matthieu’s second release following “Days Are Here” [FPX-11] with a fresh original, “Johnny Teh Tumbler”.
Matthieu’s signature style carries heavy sub bass that thumps along a lead of dreamy melodies flaired with rollicking voxes. The notion is grounds for an in-yer-face stomper. Synchronized in layers, the melodies and break downs build perfectly, creating an electrical, futuristic production.

The legendary Jay Tripwire really broke it out on this one. His remix is primped with b-boy flare and woven tightly into a fluid bass-roller. The accent is on the Original versions dreamier keys that Jay takes to new heights. “Johnny Teh Tumbler” is tickled fancy with twirling hats that shimmer down the spine and land in a vacuum with the beauty of silence before the ass kicker. His use of space is just what the floor needs, coz when it’s all said and done, “Johnny Teh Tumbler” does not mess around. Hands down, this track leaks sophistication.

Mieka Du Franx takes a traditional approach with Johnny, mixing a flavor of the dx 100 organ along a sandy knocker that nestles deep. The tones exude an array of fuzzy fx that give that track a whimsical vibe. Emphasis is placed on the voices, whistles, bells, and a bit of crunchy delight that work nicely for an overall playful cut.
