No gimmicks, just good music you don’t ever want to stop dancing
to. It’s what’s become the backbone of his very successful ALMA
parties and what carried his “Deeper Than Disco” radio show for 8
years on WHCR 90.3 FM NY (along with stellar sets from friends like
Ron Trent, Todd Terry, Louie Vega and countless others). Some
people were born to program music, and when the right talent comes
along, the dance floor becomes a very magical place. After all, the
magical experiences DJ True has had on floors like The Loft, Paradise
Garage, Disco Fever, and the like, make for very strong reference
points.
A true DJ’s DJ. Back when he was still playing smoky bars on the
Lower Eastside, you’d commonly find the industry’s elite passing by
to catch a tune they¹d know for sure they wouldn’t hear anywhere
else. He has blessed Deep Space, 718 SESSIONS, The Jamboree,
Soul Summit, Bang The Party, The House Dance Conference, WMC,
concerts, all with sets that people have never stopped inquiring
about.
That’s why we should be so lucky. For one night only, DJ TRUE lays it
down for 6 hours + as he used to on the weekly. Expect nothing but
the best from his endless collection of grooves that’ll make you
move, and songs that will transport you to a place where everyone
can be free to get lucky.
This all takes place on what’s supposed to be the unluckiest night of
the year. There will be sexy themes and goodies throughout the night
to encourage exactly what the title of this party intended. So come
get some of this fresh rising talent on the heels of his first ALMA
compilation for Wave Music and so much more. Aural satisfaction will
not be a matter of luck.
Time Warner Digital Cable subscribers tune in to Time Out on
Demand for an interview with “DJ True” under the “Clubs” section.
