Hauswerks, aka Colin Barratt has been producing and

DJing dance music for over 8 years with regular DJ sets

everywhere from Brazil to Amsterdam, London to Norway

and, of course, out in Ibiza. Whilst he often engineers for

other big name producers like Oliver Lang, or serves up big

hits on Cr2 or Berwick Street Records, ‘Tribe & Tested’ is a

    long player debut for Barratt…

The album takes in everything from whistle led, gypsy

house tracks(The Whistler) to ducking and diving, rich

house beats(‘Lay back’) to Luciano style percussive house

with obscured vocal snippets (‘Highlife’). As the album

progresses so the tempos increase and things become all

the more wild: the aptly entitled ‘Africained’ has a wild and

flailing bongo beat backed by the murmurs of a room full of

people, whilst the first of two tracks featuring Gaz James

(‘Orondo’) is a more heads-down slice of bubbling under

    techno.

The sunshine creeps in for ‘Rambana’ feat. Rosie Romero

where the beats have a little more space to breath, before

the ante is upped for the final tracks which bobble along on

some silvery tech waves. Overall ‘Tribe & Tested’ offers a

fine selection of dance floor cuts which make for rewarding

listening for the mind as much as the feet.

    About 303 Lovers

3030 Lovers is run by Manuele Meini (Aka Manuel De La

Mare / Sara Galli), Alessandro Bacci (Aka Alex Kenji) and

Luigi Emanuele Rocca (Marshall). Based In Tuscany, Italy,

the label is becoming an established national and

international presence in light of support from, and

collaboration with, key players in the underground

electronic movement. The label is regularly at the top of

the Beatport chart and its sound and style can range from

techno, tech house to electro, but always appeals to

underground music lovers in this time of crossover genre

    madness.
