This month, BounceFM.Com is proud to present Ask Atossa. Ask Atossa is a monthly column in which Atossa Kia of KLF Law Practice responds to reader questions about their music and entertainment specific questions. KLF Law Practice was launched by Atossa Kia in 2003 in an effort to bring New York and Paris together, to provide the best and most affordable legal services to clients in both America and Europe. KLF offers its legal services to a wide range of clients who are either seeking to create a legal business structure in New York or Paris, prospecting new markets and promotional opportunities, or simply looking to establish an initial contact in both cities in order to develop their business on a local and international level.
Q: I’m a record producer, I signed a track to a record
label for which I received a $500 advance. Not only I did not receive any royalty checks for the song but a friend in Holland told me the song was used in a TV commercial there. I did not authorize the use nor did I receive any revenue from this. What can I do?
