Jamm Rocks Launch Party – 27 May 2011

On Friday 27th May, Brixtons Jamm will host the launch

party for a new night focused on the dance floor featuring

both live artists and DJs, aptly named…Jamm Rocks. None

other than Tom Middleton will headline an all star cast in

what will prove to be an event that will blur boundaries,

cross genres and fundamentally offer some of the best

    music and performance around.

The amazing Tom Middleton has been drafted in to set the

venue alight as he allows those attending the chance to

marvel at a DJ who goes beyond convention. He takes on

every gig, production or project with unparalleled research

and detail, delivering a unique and unflustered

performance that will whip the Jamm dance floor into a

frenzy, while showcasing his true musical knowledge and

    technical ability.

This is no ordinary DJ, a classically trained musician from

Cornwall, he has a deep understanding of music in its

entirety. His achievements are extensive and ongoing.

DJing across the globe has seen him perform to crowds as

large as 150,000, he has produced on his own as well as

collaborating with others under pseudonyms such as Jedi

Knights and Global Communications, he has founded labels

Evolution, Universal Language, Heard and E3, performed

over 50 improvised shows with band The Bays and has had

the opportunity to remix a variety of artists including Kerri

Chandler, Prince, Royksopp and Coldplay. With Jamm such

an intimate venue containing a great sound system, this

will be the perfect opportunity to witness this DJ up close

    and personal.

Not content to stop there, the incredible line up continues

with Retro/Grade, Cassette Jam, Spycatcher Live and

Steep all looking to tear a big fat hole in the venue sound

system. Retro/Grade (Tom Neville & Serge Santiago)

produce a synth laden disco house sound that has gathered

incredible support for clubbers, critics and their peers alike

and this night will be no different. Cassette Jam and Steep

will be on hand to provide some serious rocking dance

music from behind the decks, while there will be an

energetic live performance from one of the most talked

about indie bands, Spycatcher. This is a great chance to

see the band before they embark on a summer of festivals

including recent confirmation of their appearance at

    Reading.

Jamm Rocks will also be presented in 3D! With every

person being issued 3D glasses on entry, the venue will

feature projectors, imagery and animation. Another

addition that will take the party to the next level as Jamm

Rocks sets its stall in becoming one of the most exciting,

forward thinking and foundation shaking events to hit

    London for a long time.
