    FRIDAY APRIL 7th – JOURNEYS @ EGG, 200 York Way – 10-6am, £12, £8 before 12< ?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Room one: Robert Owens, Larry Heard, Dave Jones (Curious Records)

Room two: Kirk Degiorgio (Versatile), Dan Berkson (Mood music)

Chicago native Larry Heard is one of the most important godfathers of house music. Beginning with a spacey, downtempo piece of synth heaven called “Mysteries of Love” as Mr. Fingers in 1985, this was followed in 1986 with the release of the anthemic ‘Can You Feel It’ (“In the beginning, there was Jack. And Jack had a groove…”) which created the blueprint for deep house. His classic mid-’80s singles on Trax Records — as Fingers Inc. with the addition of Robert Owens — set the template for every house-influenced producer to come later, and scores of dance artists have name-checked him as providing the best moments in house music’s history. In the main room at Egg, Larry will be reunited with Robert Owens, playing together for the first time in many years – it promises to be a very special occasion.

Warming up for Robert and Larry, Dave Jones (Curious Records), Friday night resident at Sosho in Shoreditch, with his own show on http://www.ssradiouk.com and a sound that moves through deep house and disco.

Upstairs, Kirk Degiorgio, better known as As One, undoubtedly one of the most innovative and successful British techno producer/ DJs. His style is mostly Detroit-style techno, often mixed with funk, soul and jazz fusion. In 2005 Kirk signed to French label Versatile resulting in the acclaimed As One LP ‘Elegant Systems’. Kirk is credited with being the first professionally known DJ to use the programme Ableton Live alongside vinyl for his DJ sets. Kirk’s “FXMix01” CD in 2003 was the first Ableton mix album of its kind and paved the way for the current popularity of laptop DJing.

Alongside Kirk, Dan Berkson, electro/tech house producer who has a host of releases on Sondos, Movum and Mood Music. His tracks have been featured on Radio 1, Kiss FM and have got big support from the likes of Erick Morillo, Steve Bug and Laurent Garnier to name but a few. Look out for his latest release, on Hear No Evil – stripped down tech deepness with a Robert Owens spoken word vocal.

The will also be a catwalk fashion showcase by Sandra Verstraten – a showcase of innovative, modern glamour setting classic old skool sophistication against modern values of construction in palettes of larger than life bold colours.
