IT’S THAT TIME!!! Global soul dance party, SOL ASCENSION, returns
to legendary hot spot, S.O.B.’s, for a night that can’t be missed!
On Saturday, August 29th, MANCHILDBLACK/HYPE LIFE MUSIC will
celebrate the King of Pop’s b-day with a special performance by the
voice behind the Yoruba Records classics “Mirror Dance” and “I
Apologize,” OVEOUS MAXIMUS! The native New Yorker, whose
amazing talents have allowed him to collaborate with everyone
fromLupe Fiasco to Louie Vega, will be backed by Sol Ascension

Working the decks for the night will be none other than one of global
soul’s finest producer/remixer/DJ virtuosos,JIHAD MUHAMMAD
(Movementsoul). Also, the performers of the global soul, afrobeat
and hip-hop group, LE SOUL AFRIQUE, will set the stage as the
night’s opening act.

Global Soul is a form of dance music deeply rooted in
African, Brazilian, Caribbean and Latin rhythms. It is a music that
celebrates the rich history of a people and their culture.
On Thursday, August 27th, resident DJ Ian Friday will dig deep in the
crates toexplore the multi-dimensional sounds of this music and
invite all to dance, shout and rejoice in its majesty!
The always festive event will be hosted by the agile
members of renown dance collective, Afro Mosaic Soul.
Also, MTV Art Battle winner, Concep, will be on hand to
capture the essence of the night live on canvass.
