URGENT APPEAL TO ALL A&R STAFF
Created through a freak laboratory accident involving Reason ™ and a 200MHz P2 in late 2001, Lucius Lowe was raised in a PC server tower case and spoon-fed a diet of 80’s metal and later, 90’s funky house. He quickly matured, developing an addiction to the sound-altering drug VST* and began the long downward spiral into the deep, dark underworld of the Sequencer. Evidence of this hopeless addict’s continuing condition can be found at http://www.musicthatmattersrecords.com, his only hope of salvation is to be signed by a major record label. Please direct all donations in the form of queries, comments or contracts to info@musicthatmattersrecords.com

“…Hi, I’m Gary Lowe, the driving force behind Lucius Lowe/Boogs Music. I have always had a love of music, from my earliest days I have memories of ’70s commercial pop and collections of 60’s pop and soul. My fascination with making music began at the age of nine, when I tried to compose a song using milk bottles and kitchen implements for percussion. I tried writing guitar parts on paper, even though I had never even seen a real guitar! My enthusiasm waned after several (obviously) unsuccessful attempts, until I reached my teens and met other musically minded kids at school. I joined a rock band, playing bass guitar.Around 1992 I caught the dance music bug and in 2000, I came across Codemasters’ “Music 2000” software for my trusty old playstation, which opened my eyes to a whole new concept of making music. My enthusiasm was fired and this simple toy introduced me to the world of electronic music. I purchased a cheap PC and began to experiment with Propellerheads’ “Reason” software, quickly grasping the fundamentals of virtual music technology. After a steep learning curve I progressed to Steinberg’s “Cubase SX” and embraced VST with open arms. In january 2004, I gained a qualification in basic “hands-on” studio technique (NCFE intermediate certificate in music technology) and officially launched Boogs Music, bringing us to where we are right now. I offer my production services locally, having completed work on an eight track demo for local Soul/R&B artist Lois Taylor and a four track CD for local Alison Moyet impersonator Janine Michelle at http://www.alfmoyet.co.uk With a film-score for a magic show, remix work for progressive house artist Bluecarpet, and audio projects for both Savage Recordings artists Guantanamo Bay and internet music label Queep Organic Music under my belt, remix work for Liverpool artist Dave Coe at http://www.honeygroove.com and French house artist Alek Acero completed, Boogs Music is slowly becoming busier.
My aim with my music is to produce quality house tracks that people will enjoy both dancing to and listening to for pleasure. My own style of production ranges from soulful, jazzy, funky house through to more deep, dark progressive dance and all are DJ/dancefloor friendly. My music is available on several websites around the world and as an artist, Lucius Lowe is gaining popularity. My promotion skills not being as finely honed as my studio technique, I recently teamed up with Manchester DJ Mark Ellison and regularly appear as a monthly guest presenter on his internet radio show “Club Vibes,” hosted by one of the world’s most popular internet-based dance radio stations http://www.pulseradiogroup.com.
In the coming months we plan to launch our own independent label “Music that Matters” to hopefully bring a fresh and exciting new talent to the attention of the discerning clubber. Our first release “Tuck n Tan” by yours truly should be hitting the download stores around the end of August with several more in the pipeline. With a remix for an up-and-coming chart-topper in progress, new tracks coming out of my studio every week and regular plays in clubs around the world, it can be seen I have my sights firmly set on musical stardom!”
