Mark Knight & Martijn Ten Velden
‘Our House’ EP
DTPM Recordings
DTPM 08
Two of London’s freshest producers Mark Knight and Martijn Ten Velden join forces and ride through the gates of dawn as they create what can only be described as the most hedonistically twisted
underground dancefloor rocker this year has seen! A match made in heaven? proof is in the pudding as the boys dish up a mean double helping of sublime chunky sweat inducing stomping fodder!
‘Our House’ is a powerful relentless groove with menacing synth stabs and an eery vocal snatch all locked down with a filthy funky-ass bass hook. ‘Feel The Sax’ is a tribally affair with crisp percussive beats, deep dark bass rumblings with a an incessantly haunting sax riff that sets the track alight!
Dutch born multitalented remixer, producer, writer and DJ. Martijn Ten Velden has been producing records for 12 years. Since moving to london back in 1990 when he produced underground rap acts, Martijn has worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Another Level, Ace of Base and many others in the capacity of producer, co-writer, or programmer. Later he joined forces with cohort David James to form Audiodrive and later their own label, Dirty Skankin Sounds. Together they remixed and produced the likes of Kylie Minogue, Ms Dynamite, Eddie Grant, DB Boulevard, Agent Sumo, Prophets Of Sound, to name a few. Although parted company now, Martijin continues to work under the name Audio Drive, or Filthy Rockers with Lee Coffey. As a DJ He has graced many clubs from Europe to the Middle East, with his unique of style mixing accapellas and sound effects to create superb live remixes.
Mark Knight, one third of the Toolroom Productions label team, was first introduced to the dance scene very much at the deep end back in 1995 where then promoted parties and went on to play all over London alongside the likes of Masters at Work, Roger Sanchez, Alistair Whitehead, Joey Negro to name a few. Mark’s productions were born out of a introduction to Dave Lee’s (Joey Negro), then Engineer, Kevin (b-boy) Brooks where a successful partnership was formed and “K&M” were born, with their first cut ‘This Is Why’ released on Z Records. Alongside recording with Kevin as K&M & Mindprint, Mark has produced and remixed tracks for top labels Fluential, Mn2S & Ultra Vinyl, Portent Records, Kidology and Sony working with Kylie, and he just finished remixing Solarys Let the Sunshine in together with Martijn for Nebula records.
Our House is already being championed by Pete Tong on Radio One, Deep Dish, Rocky (Xpress II), Tom Stephan & Guy Williams.
Mark Knight & Martijn Ten Velden will be DJing at DTPM @ Fabric on Sunday 23rd November
