dj’s unreleased music direct from San Juan, Puerto Rico

Max will be dj’ing a set of
unreleased material from the freshest Latin chill out labels Candela Recordings
and Candela Bitasweet (Bugz in the Attic’s label with Candela in Puerto
Rico). His set will feature music that
Candela’s collective of brilliant bands and dj’s have been recording for two
years at the Candela studios in San Juan including music from Local 12, Bugz in
the Attic, I.G. Culture, Neonphusion, Domu, Seiji, Quantic, Nickodemus, and
percussion maestros Giovanni Hidalgo and Anthony Carrillo.

All the material that Max
will play on Monday is unreleased, so hear it while it’s still so fresh
(they’re literally mastering the music this week). In fact, the only two 12″s Candela Bitasweet ever released
were nominated by Giles Peterson for BBC’s Worldwide Music Awards 2004.

The music captures all the
raw and roots music from Puerto Rico together with new productions from West
London and New York. Combining Afro-Latin roots musics such as rumba, bomba,
plena, mozambique and salsa with downtempo and abstract broken beats their music
also explores enough dubby vibes for us to love at Deep Space.
