Roll-up, roll-up: a veritable mini festival of electronic music
is rolling into Birmingham as the Mixmag Tour arrives on
December 5th.
Having steamrollered its way around the country on what is
officially the biggest tour of its kind, Mixmag is set to get
the infamous Custard Factory bumping with an array of
dubstep, nu-rave, electro, house and more when it arrives
with some of 2009s finest acts…
There’ll be A Trak slinging down his broken beat, house,
electro and hip hop; then expect any number of spin backs
from Radio 1’s ravey electro wonder kid Kissy Sell Out.
More electronic eclecticism comes from Jaymo & Andy
George (who’re also residents on the ‘In new music we
trust’ show on Radio 1) whilst French duo Cassius will join
the dots between French dance music from underground
grooves to poppier melodies via Daft Punk, Air and Dimitri.
On a live tip Crystal Fighters will weave folk guitar lines
with electronic bass and synth, whilst Caspa is set to drop
wobbly bassline after wobbly bassline with his gangster
take on dubstep. Burns will supply some disco, IAM ONE
(tour residents) will glide along on their big room tech
house sounds, whilst DJ Fu will woo you will his skills
behind the decks as he lays down some d&B. Completing a
huge line-up for this Birmingham leg of the tour are d&b
mainstay Zinc and MC Rod Azlan.
With all the extra production you’d expect from the world’s
leading dance music magazine, and the already killer
atmosphere Custard Factory is known to have, this is a
rave date you really don’t want to miss.
