    Monkey Brothers

    ‘Invisible’ Feat. Jon Cutler mix

    Papa Records

    PAPA019

Monkey Brothers aka restless soul productions cohorts Mike Patto and Felix Hopkins are back!!! Some three years after their debut release ‘Some Of What You Got’ came out on Tony Humphries’ Yellow Orange label they return to deliver their wonderous new single. Invisible is a

seriously classy uplifting groovefest awash with lush keys, warm vocal melodies over a deep funky bass, containing all the essential credentials to get any dancefloor bubbling over!

Mike Patto, one third of Papa’s enormously popular soulful outfit, Reel People, is probably one busiest musicians / songwriters of his genre, working not only on the Reel People project, but also with Nathan Haines and his band and his work for restless soul productions. Felix, aside from his involvement with Monkey Brothers, is an acclaimed producer and engineer who runs Fluidty studios where many a restless soul release has been recorded. You may also recognise him as the man behind the Black Box Technology releases for Classic Records.

Effortlessly soulful vocals are a plenty, courtesy of Rikki Collins and the uk’s coolest diva Vanessa Freeman (Reel People, Nathan Haines Band, 4 Hero), their combined vocal talents being nothing short of a match made in heaven. The sublimely talented Vanessa Freeman, who is fast becoming one of the UK’s most respected singers, is currently recording her debut album for Chillifunk records. Oxford born Rikki has spent his formative years based in the USA. His time was spent moving between airforce bases with his father. A staff sergeant in the US airforce, his father also inspired Rikki’s love of music as he would spend his spare time DJing in local clubs. Returning to the UK in his late teens Rikki began began to realise his ambitions. He was in a band called Onyx (a Jazz Funk collective, not the rugged Hip Hip crew!!!) and had a project called Cypher with Toni Economides (KV5 / Da Lata) and has provided backing vocals for artists such as M-People and Dave Stewart. He has recently been writing & recording demos for his forthcoming debut album.

Distant Music front man and head honcho Jon Cutler adds his unique signature creating a

beautiful reworking with shunting raw, percussive beats over an infectious bass groove, creating an altogether deeper affair.

    1) Club Mix

    2) Musapella

    3) Distant Music Re-Work

‘Invisible’ will be released on November 24th on Papa Records.
