Doot Dude is Nathan’s latest single taken from his amazing new album Squire For Hire and features a young voice whose street wise manner and fast verbal delivery have made Lyric L one of the most sought after rising stars in the UK.West London rapper and lyricist Nkechi-da-LyricL, first blessed the stage at the tender age of thirteen performing her hip-hop version of Anita Bakers Sweet Love, on the Run DMC Peter Piper instrumental (way before Mary had the 411!) going on to win two years in a row. She graduated to gracing stages unveiling her technique to artists like O.C., Canibus and Wyclef as well as performing at Apricot Jam, Cream of the Crop and Flavour of the Month, Lyric L has established herself while claiming her place amongst the elite British underground, where spontaneous freestyles and on-the-spot skill’is your armour in a lyrical duel. Lyric L has recently been performing live with jazz /funk /soul/Producer and musician Mark de Clive Lowe in Istanbul, Turkey and Portugal & working with J-Live and in- demand Mos Def producer DJ Spinna from NY City. Also contributing to MJ Cole’s new Album Cut The Chase with the song Take Flight.
The song takes Nathan Haines and producer Phil Asher’s work to a higher level, and the original vibe, is an astute observation exercise for Lyric L, whose ears and eyes read just what is going on beneath the surface of UK’s streets. It makes a powerful and attractive message to all who are willing to listen. Add to that Mr Ashely Beedle, (fresh from his Chart No.1 with XPress 2 and David Burns Lazy which picked up the Ivor Novello award for best Dance record of 2002 and currently riding high with his reworking of Elton John’s Are You Ready For Love) who turns the beat inside out, with some truly awesome drums and some brilliant, highly infectious strings – making Doot Dude a superb street song tailor made for our modern dance floors!
