I love house music and have been producing (or trying) now for 4 years, I jus can’t get my beats to sound pro, I’ve tried layering drum hits and loops till i’m blue in the face but it still sounds amatuer. I’d like to be able to make beats like the subliminal guys (choo choo romero, richard f etc. Anyone got any tips, what sort of drum hits do they use, sample cd’s, synthesised or what. I’m gettin really frustrated. can’t get the kicks hats and percussion right. would also like toknow how to use filters properly too. I find that if I filter an electric piano it sounds phat but when you take the filter off it sounds all thin and crap. Any help, books or whatever would be real handy coz I love house music, I was there from the beginning.
Edit: I hate using loops, prefer to do everything from scratch, anyone can bosh a few loops together.
