2/26 | Red Pepper Sessions w/ JOHNNY FIASCO @ Sullivan Room

    < ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Alright people! I know it’s early to announce, but we’re too excited to hang onto the news.

The MIXIN crew and the Beverly Chills! have collaborated again to bring you another RED PEPPER SESSIONS event. This time we are bringing you a special treat….Chicago House Legend JOHNNY FIASCO, aka Maxx Renn will be spinning at the Sullivan Room on the brand new VISION sound system.

Also, this is the official launch party of the NYC-based record label RED FLAVORED RECORDS, co-founded by Aaron Schumm & Johnny Fingers.

JOHNNY FIASCO (VIVA / OM RECORDS / DOUBLEDOWN):

House music IS that Windy City groove that has gone global and back leaving its mark on the world forever. Any discussion on House Music is totally incomplete without mentioning Johnny Fiasco.

As a teen, Johnny knew he wanted to make music. After logging in countless hours as a deejay at house parties and clubs during the late 80’s, he got his big break with a residency at the legendary Red Dog. Deejaying alongside DJ Diz, Mark Farina and Spencer Kincey, Johnny quickly cut his chops with the best deejays in the US. Through his nights at the club and deejays sets abroad, Johnny turned heads with his unique sound of jackin’ beats, house grooves, and flawless mixing. But the story doesn’t end there.

Rewind to 1991, when a fledgling Fiasco released “Zig Zag” on Trax Records. As a young producer, he found himself surrounded by top-notch producers from the Chicago area, eventually landing multiple releases on Cajual, Guidance and Large Records. Johnny’s quirky mix of house beats, techno sounds, and soulful grooves quickly made him one of the most sought after producers for music labels around the globe.

More than just a deejay and producer, Johnny Fiasco is a force in the music community that pushes boundaries and challenges the dance community to progress into the future. With his ears keenly in tune with the dancefloor, Johnny is taking us all to new level of sound with a sonic experience of moods and grooves.

    MIXIN / RFR:

Johnny Fingers is a Dallas transplant, bringing some of those great Texas house beats with him, that have been popping up all over the place with the likes of JT Donaldson & Lance DeSardi. Aaron Schumm is a Chicago transplant, who is on a mission to bring a bit of house to NYC with a Chicago edge that you can’t help but dance to. ).

Johnny Fingers and Aaron Schumm are proud to announce the launch of their new record label RED FLAVORED RECORDS (http://www.redflavored.com). Their first 12″, entitle “The Stir Fried EP”, will be released soon and some online releases at stompy.com will be available at the end of this month. We’re excited to press up our tunes and bring more funky and Chicago house to NYC. Future releases will involve many of your favorite NY DJs as well as some remixes from national and global Djs/Producers. Join them at their first record release party next month when they bring in the famous Johnny Fiasco!

    Beverly Chills!:

The Beverly Chills style is much in the vein of artists such as Dizzy, Miguel Migs, Demarkus Lewis, Doc Martin and Johnny Fiasco. We have also been greatly influenced over the years by such East Coast natives as Joeski and Onionz. Originally from France, we also share much of the Gallic Funk found on labels such as Brique Rouge.

Stay Funky, and support the return of house music to NYC!
