Reel People formed in February 2000 when Papa Records honcho Oli Lazarus met engineer Tom Davidson. Their first release, back in 2001, was the highly acclaimed ‘Spiritual’ featuring none other than the fantastic jazz guru Nathan Haines on flute, and was later remixed by Jon Cutler. By early 2002 Mike Patto (restless soul) had joined the group and together the three of them focused on their vision for a collaborative album project with an emphasis on creating quality soulful music. After two weeks of solid song writing Oli, Mike and Tom set about the recording and producing, drawing on a host of incredibly talented musicians and vocalists to deliver their shared vision. As a result Reel People created two dancfloor smashes. Can’t Stop Featuring Angela Johnson sporting amazing mixes from Dennis Ferrer, and Second Guess Featuring Jag, with mixes from house legends Blaze, and of course, one of the finest albums to hit this year-Second Guess.

Reel People have teamed up with restless soul’s Phil Asher to deliver their 3rd release from this worldwide acclaimed masterpiece which is currently blowing the pants off clubland. Butterflies, is a beautifully intricate song all about love and its emotional delights introducing soul songstress Dyanna Fearon. The niece of Phil Fearon (of Galaxy fame), Dyanna is a prolific singer/songwriter who has recently featured on the “D-Influence presents D-Vas” album, delivers outstanding lead vocals on Butterflies, capable of pulling hard on the coldest of heartstrings – due for release on October 27th.
