Whilst Leeds has always been a hotbed of dance music

activity, and After party has put Huddersfield on the map,

Barnsley has been left wanting when it comes to decent

underground parties… until now….

Coming from one of the men behind Afterparty (also a

respected DJ in his own right across the country) Domski,

plus two local DJs called Dan Ogden and Andy Donachie, is

Re: Work – is a series of high profile events to hit Barnsley

starting on 26th March 2011 with Stanton Warrior and Dave

Spoon.   The idea is to offer unpretentious but clued-up

soundtracks and parties to those cheery types in Barnsley

so far starved of such treats. The music policy will be wide

and varied incorporating everything from house, d&b,

dubstep, electro and break beat.

As mentioned, the inaugural event stars headliners and

breakbeat pioneers Stanton Warriors just as they launch a

new album, plus support comes from ex Radio One man

and current Toolroom Knight champ, Dave Spoon. Look

forward to plenty of big room beats, techy overtones and

hands-in-the moments of pure electronic bliss, then!

In the coming months, expect huge international acts like

Ms Dynamite, Kissey Sell out, Scratch Perverts, Herve and

Krafty Kuts to trip to Barnsley and headline the Re: Work

events at Citrus.  Ticket prices will be kept reasonable at

every event, ranging anything from £6 to £8, with more on

the door.
