In the first instance we would like you to submit ‘affordable packs’
that will sell for between £5.99 and £9.99 [approx $9.76 / $16.28 or
7.60 EURO / 12.67 EURO]. This will give us [and you] a good
opportunity to test there appeal, which if positive we can work with
you to develop a more comprehensive range.
Download Pack Information
When submitting sample download packs please provide as much
information as possible for each pack, such as.
Sleeve Image:
Not compulsory as we can design one for you at no cost.
Description:
Please provide a description for your sample pack. Ensure that you
include the file types available within the pack [such as apple loops,
rex 2, aiff and wav etc] plus how many loops, hits, fx [etc] and the
total [zipped] file size.
Genre:
Please notify us clearly which genre [or genres] your sample pack
covers.
File Types:
Within your pack, clearly identify different file types, such as Apple
Loops | Audio | EXS-24 | Giga | HALion | Kontakt | NN-XT | Rex 2 |
Wav | AIFF etc. Please ensure that you produce your files to the
highest possible quality – it is what you would expect if you were
purchasing a pack!
Note / Key / Chord:
Provide this information if it is applicable to any of your samples,
perhaps within the ‘name of the individual sample’.
Price:
Price structure is evidently guided by the amount and quality of
content contained within your pack.
mp3 Demo:
You will increase sales significantly if you provide a demo mp3 for
your pack which contains some of the sounds, loops or fx that are
available within your pack. It does not need to be long, up to a
minute. We will place the mp3 file next to the description of your
pack to enable users to listen before they buy!
mp3 demos should be recorded at 192kbs.
Audio Watermark:
Please tag your mp3 demo with the following audio watermark.

Download Pack Structure
Within the file you send to us you may want to structure your folders
as follows, but this is only a guideline:
Main Folder:
The name of your Sample Pack.
Sub-Folder 1:
Perhaps list your main folders – such as bass, drum loops, FX, synth
lines, synth loops, kicks, percussion loops, strings.
More Sub-Folders:
You may decide to create more sub-folders within each folder you
create in “Sub-Folder 1” which contain keys/chords, BPM or different
file types. It helps to keep things organised to make your sample
packs easy to use.
Content:
There is no set rule for the amount of content you place within your
packs. Evidently people buying your packs will be looking for quantity
as well as ‘guaranteed quality’ – value for money!
It depends upon what you set your sale price at. The higher your
price the more content you’ll need to provide.
Tech Specs:
It is recommended that your sample rate and bit depth should be set
to:
44.1kHz/24bit.
However we are also interested in sample collections at 96kHz/24bit
depending upon content.
Please Contact Us if you’d like some guidelines on this point.
Reports and Payments
We offer a 50/50 split on all sales after bank transaction fees,
approx. 2.5% on each sale.
We retain 50% to cover hosting and marketing costs to help us to
continue driving traffic towards your download packs.
We provide you with secure FTP access which gives you an up-to-
date record of how many packs you’ve sold.
Statements are emailed quarterly.
Payments are sent to you within 14 days of us receiving your invoice
via PayPal, direct bank transfer or by cheque.
Legal Stuff
Before we upload your samples you will be required to read and
agree to our “Digital Download Agreement”. We will send a copy of
the Agreement once we have established contact with you.
Where To Submit Your Pack
To submit your ZIP file please send an email to: johnny [at]
samplesformusic [.com] with the subject header “Sample Pack FTP
Requestâ€. We’ll then set-up an FTP folder with a user-name and
password to enable you to upload your files.
Alternatively please provide us with the location of your ZIP file on
your own server where we can collect the files or send it to the
above email address via, for example http://www.yousendit.com
Please note that we aspire to provide our users with ‘quality driven
content’, therefore once our production team has vetted your pack
we may ask you to make certain adjustments before we agree to
upload it to our site.
We hope that you’ll take this opportunity to work with us and please
contact us if you have any questions!
