Press Release:
Kings Of Tomorrow New York house producer Sandy Rivera launched an ultra low key London residency at tiny Clerkenwell venue the Cosmobar last November.
“The venue is a fun place to be with friends and it’s more like a house party and you don’t need many people for something like that,†says Sandy, “There’s a restaurant upstairs and the food is fab with some chilled music and down stairs is spot on to let loose, but the more people come the better.â€
His new party, called Blackwiz, happens once a month on a Wednesday. Please watch out for listings…
The name comes from Blackwiz Records… Sandy‘s relaunched imprint which will now be focused on house music that back in the early 90’s became the outlet Rivera needed to develop his distinctive sound and create what he really wanted, which was initially hip-hop oriented tracks.
Cosmobar’s a cool venue and in fact Sandy is already playing all sorts of other venues but nowhere like this; it’s small but dirty and he likes the fact that he can play records he normally can’t at bigger venues.
For some DJs, the start of the year is a time to get new ideas down in the studio, for others it’s a chance to take a break from the international touring circuit and soak up some rays in the Southern Hemisphere. However, for Kings of Tomorrow, 2006 sees the new adventure of a new mid-week night at London’s Cosmobar.
The public opinion:
“…As always, Sandy’s company is a treat – the man’s a great host and a stong attraction to friendly, beautiful people.â€â€¦â€ I liked the venue, perfect for an intimite little night and the staff were very nice which makes a difference.â€â€¦
Surely not to be missed!!!
