    ((( FEATURED ARTISTS )))

    FREDDIE CRUGER aka RED ASTAIRE

Freddie Cruger aka Red Astaire entered the hiphop game as break

dancer in the early 80’s. During the golden age of hiphop he worked

at record shop in Stockhom and soon after bought his first pair of

decks and began honing his skills. In the early 90’s he made the next

logical step, he bought a sampler and started producing tracks and

hasn’t let up since. He’s worked with numerous artists: China Moses

(DeDe Bridgewater’s daughter), Bob Powers (A Tribe Called Quest,

The Roots), Rappadon, Baz Baz, La Nata (France), ADL, Desmond

Foster, Linn, Swing Fly, Anthony David, Bas-1 just to name a few. He

rocked dancefloors worldwide with his remix of D’Angelo’s “Follow

Me” under the alias Red Astaire (GAMM) and continues to pump out

dance floor rockers with each release. Combining funk, hiphop, soul,

latin, reggae and disco Freddie keeps hiphop dancefloors alive.

DJ MAD MATS (RAW FUSION RECORDS)

Raw Fusion began as a club founded by DJ Mad Mats in 1996 in

Stockholm. The club was an instant success and soon spawned 2

record labels, the now world renowned Raw Fusion & Jugglin’. Acting

as A+R for both labels, Mats musical vision has helped shape and

redefine the black soul and hiphop movement in Europe. “In

everything we do, quality and musical integrity have been our main

goal,” says Mats. “We’re a music company, not a corporate business

    company!”

“When I go shopping, the first (and sometimes only, when I’m

crunched for time) labels I check for are Raw Fusion & Jugglin. That

whole swedish crew must be eating some hearty soul and latin food,

cuz they shitting out some f**king amazing records consistently!!!” –

    Bobbito

“I really love the label as a whole, and I always ask for their joints at

the stores when I’m digging. I wish there were more American labels

that were as adventurous as these guys…” – Rich Medina (Kindred

    Spirits)

“Well, what can i say. Fantastic forward thinking music in a quality

package from one of the best labels in the world. Loving the

scandinavian vibes for sure and definately big in my box and already

igniting any dancefloor where i play. More of this music please. Note

to other pretend labels: watch Raw Fusion and see how it should be

done.” – Charlie Dark (Attica Blues)

“Both labels are putting out heat, hands down…fighting musical

mediocrity takes balls. Y’all got big ones.” – Garth Trinidad (KCRW/

    Chocolate City)

    AMANDA ADAMS-LOUIS

    Amanda Adams-Louis aka LaFotographeurese, Afrokinetic

Photographer and visual artist officially joined the Afrokinetic family

in January 2006. Her first day on the job was opening night of

BROOKLYN BRIDGES (season one) @ Gallerie in DUMBO. It only

seemed appropriate for one of our own to be represented in the

gallery on opening night and to see all the memories we have

shared, for the very first time. All captured, night after night by Miss

    Adams-Louis.
