This Weekend at Sankeys – Simain Mobile Disco, Dave Clarke +

    more!

BUGGED OUT! SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO – SATURDAY 12th DECEMBER

Bugged Out! is the longest running club night at Sankeys Soap, and

on the verge of entering its third decade of partying there its clear

why the club still holds a lofty status amongst the Northern disco

fraternity. Never followers, they have been leading the club crowd to

the avant-garde of electronica since the mid nineties and are showing

no sign of relenting just yet. Dubbing them legends tells only half the

story. Topping this particular Bugged Out! party is the effusively

enigmatic Simian Mobile Disco. SMD are undoubtedly one of the great

success stories of modern dance music. Formally part of indie

rockers Simian, band-members James Ford and Jas Shaw began

DJing together whilst on tour, garnering some rave reviews along the

way and creating an embryonic partnership that would explode out of

the band’s ashes later upon break-up. And then Justice roughed up

‘We are your friends’ into the shimmering electro house anthem that

made the NME skinny jeans jetset pogo just as readily as the rave

crew, and dance and indie were once again brilliantly intertwined.

SMD are the apex of that marriage, angular jerky beats alongside

star gazing synths and just as keen an ear for hooky vocals as for

skin shredding breakdowns. They represent the muscular identity of

Bugged Out’s surge into the next decade, perfect starlets for the final

Manchester Noughties soiree the club throws.

    TRIBAL SESSIONS Vs COLOUR

It’s been a while since real underground music has shook the rafters

like it did for the first Colour at Sankeys. Liebing, Surgeon and Bas

Mooy all left a lasting impression that has cemented Techno directly

into the heartland of Manchester clubbing.

Now, to finish off the year in style before plans are placed for next

year’s shows, we are proud to present a truly special Christmas gig

that sees us joining forces with Manchester oldest and most historic

    club brands

    **DAVE CLARKE**

Colour is proud to present none other than the Baron of Techno

himself, Dave Clarke. Undeniably one of the biggest names in the

scene, his Sankeys sets over the years have become the stuff of

    legend.

    **TECHNASIA**

Joining Dave Clarke wil be one of the biggest success stories of our

season at Jabez Clegg earlier this year. Taking on the crowd after

Speedy J, he put together a performance that left us all staggered.

Lets see if he can rise to the challenge this time and cement himself

    into Colour legend.
