    SOL ASCENSION

    (A Global Soul Dance Party)

    On Saturday, February 21st, Sol Ascension welcomes the return of

    the artist that Gilles Peterson calls’…the man behind a million great

    tunes’, acclaimed producer/musician/dj MARK de CLIVE-LOWE. His

    incredible performance at the Sol Ascension launch party last

    November is one that has gone down in NYC nightlife folklore. Mark’s

    2005 smash album TIDES ARISING is now a future soul classic as are

    his brilliant remixes for the likes of Jody Watley, Omar and Brazilian

    superstar Ed Motta. His latest solo release is the Japanese exclusive

    JOURNEY 2 THE LIGHT (Freedom School Records) featuring Bembe

    Segue, Jason Yarde and Sammy Figueroa (Miles Davis). The next

    long player release on the schedule is MELODIUS BEATS VOL.2 – a

    collection of Mark’s recent remixes, productions and collaborations

    due out this year.

    For his second time around, Mark will be joined on stage by the

    sublime vocalist who has been featured on tracks by Reel People,

    Nathan Haines and Bugz in the Attic, the incomparable VANESSA

    FREEMAN.

    This special performance will also serve as the wrap party for Mark’s

    world tour. So who better to handle the decks on this magical night

    than the mind-blowing KARIZMA. The DJ/producer behind the

    infamous Kohesive Productions will be unleashing an album soon, so

    expect to hear a few new joints from the man himself.

    If that weren’t enough, Sol Ascension will feature stirring

    visuals from respected nightlife photographer LAFOTOGRAPHEUSE.
