Solitaire aka Lewis Dene first sprung this fat piece of wax on the dance community at Miami WMC

earlier this year when it reached no.2 in the hype chart, 8 in the Buzz, 20 in Coolcuts, 11 in the Capital Club chart, and top 20 Club Chart. 7 months later, tipped as one of 2003’s hottest releases, suSU pick up ‘I Like Love’ and give it a full British release complete with fantastic new mixes from Hacienda legend Graeme Park and Alliance DC… its a biggie!

Lewis has also produced records on a progressive tip under the guise Westway, remixing the no. 1 US dance hit for Duncan Sheik – On A High, DJ Genesis progressive house cut – What Is The Underground? and the new Beginerz single – Losing Me for Italian imprint Oxyd. With a long history in the dance

community, Lewis formerly produced Danny Rampling’s Love Groove Dance Party on Radio 1 for five years – in addition to working on Radio 1’s dance output with the likes of Pete Tong (news reporter), Judge Jules (producer) and the Essential Mix Live (producer). With a background including studio work (1997’s Billboard Dance chart No. 1 “That Sound” as Pump Friction the most notable), the next logical move was into A&R. In 2000 he became Head of A&R for Slip ‘N’ Slide/Kickin Records, working with some of clubland’s leading players including soulful garage vocalists such as Sybil, Amira and E-Smoove through to

filtered disco-house from Antoine Clamaran and Robbie Rivera, and hard-house/progressive tip with Jonah (Sssst… Listen) and Blaze (My Beat). Lewis’ background also includes music journalism – currently he writes for DJ mag, Update, Record Collector magazine, Blues & Soul and the BBCi website and has also compiled and written liner-notes on over a 170 albums!

I Like Love is a Chic inspired disco tinged feel good peaktime floorfiller, complete with a quirky guitar hook, a spoken word intro and an insessantly catchy chorus complete with brass stabs and vocals from Beth Wild. Alliance DC aka Bob Povey, aclaimed remixer and former of the legendary Bump and Hustle nights offers a handsome four to the floor piano led spin that builds into a whopping great key frenzy! Grame Park, who has been championing the track since march, steps in to work that special parky magic on his Guarana Club Mix. Graeme tailors an Eighties disco stylee extravaganza with saucy synth echoes and key stabs, wobbly bass filters defined, smashing beats, and huge rock guitar riff that cuts through the track giving all air guitar fans with more than enough fodder to get busy on the dancefloor! Like Love?.. you’ll love it!

‘I Like Love’ is currrently being championed by Graeme Park, Mousse T, Ali B, The Sharp Boys, Smokin Jo, K-Klass, Mark Doyle (Hed Kandi), Jonathan Ulyssees, ATFC, Alan Thompson, Stonebridge, Phatts & Small, Junior Vasquez and is playlisted on the Kiss, Emap and Galaxy networks with a staggering 273 plays last week alone!

‘I Like Love’ will be released on November 24th on suSU.
