Stefano Greppi, 31 anni, dj dal 1987. E’ stato dj resident per 7 anni in uno dei più importanti locali italiani (Prince di Riccione), precisamente dal 1992 al 1999, periodo durante il quale fa serate in tutta la penisola ( UB di Milano, Alter Ego di Verona, Maneggio di Novara, Alien di Roma, Underground city e Fixx di Pescara, Extasys e Ripping in Sardegna, Pascià, Echoes, Club dei nove nove, Peter Pan di Riccione, a Napoli con gli Angels of Love NNC, Syncopate (itinerante), ed all’estero: Federation (Blackpool, Uk) e Bypass (Ginevra). Nel 1999 intraprende la professione di produttore: da semplice amante della produzione underground, in poco tempo, autodidatta, si appassiona allo studio di tecnologie audio per fare musica.
Lo studio di queste tecnologie lo portano oggi ad utilizzare i più sofisticati hardware e software (tra cui PRO TOOLS DIGIDESIGN). Ogni sua creazione è il prodotto di un suo temporaneo stato mentale espresso da sonorità house-elettroniche. Nel 2000, insieme ai Mas Collective, crea un nuovo locale (“The Loop” presso il Grand Hotel di Riccione, ex Diabolika) che diventa un appuntamento afterhours fisso ogni settimana. Nell’ottobre 2001 si trasferisce a Londra per seguire a fondo la sua professione di dj e produttore.
I suoi dischi, in particolare, “FREEDOM IS…” del quale ha realizzato testo e musica, stampato in UK da Alternative Route rec., in Portogallo KAOS rec., in USA MAGNETIK rec., in Italy GRAFFIO rec., ed “ELECTRO-POP” stampato da PLASTICA UK, sono stati suonati dai djs: Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, John Digweed, Sasha, Anthony Pappa, Saeed & Palash, Danny Howells, John Creamer, Nick Warren etc. e sono stati inseriti in importanti compilations. E numerosi internet magazines tra cui: progressive-house.com; residentadvisor.com.au, …..
La sua scelta musicale nei clubs: ”house music dalle più disparate influenze musicali in fusione con sonorità elettroniche”.

E’ stato intervistato ultimamente da RAI RADIO 2 (radio nazionale italiana) nel programma “weekendance” e dal prestigioso “Xpander.nl”(http://www.xpander.nl)

Ora sta aprendo la sua personale label che si chiama “SCREEN RECORDINGS” ed intende stampare progetti di qualità sonora intimamente connessi ad immagini visive. (lo slogan: “if music=images then screenrec.=freedom”). Nel 2001-2002 ha lavorato in clubs interessanti della scena italiana, quali il Link di Bologna ed il Doc Show, il Cenerentola club di Reggio Emilia, il Pervert di Milano, Guendalina di Lecce, Clorophilla presso Nafoura di Taranto, Alien e Absolute di Roma, ed ora Fitzcarraldo (Ar), CRASH (London), GALLERY (Greece), CULT (Lousanne – SWITZERLAND), GUM club (Hamburg). Quest’anno Stefano, insieme ai Mas Collective (il nome dei tre assieme è Mad Drivers), ha realizzato un singolo con Marc Almond che sarà stampato nei prossimi mesi.

Stefano Greppi, 31 years old, dj since 1987, he has lately made a name for himself worldwide, thanks to his discographics productions, and now his dj sets are being asked for by important European clubs. Here are some of them: Cult (Lausanne CH), CRASH (London), Gallery (Greece), Gum club (Hamburg – Germany). His records, especially “FREEDOM IS…” (2000) of which words and music he is the author – printed in the UK by Alternative Route rec., in Portugal by KAOS rec., in the USA by MAGNETIK rec., in Italy by GRAFFIO rec., and “ELECTRO-POP” (2002) printed by PLASTICA UK, have been played by the best djs on the planet, as: Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, John Digweed, Sasha, Anthony Pappa, Saeed & Palash, Danny Howells, John Creamer, Nick Warren etc. (we apologize to those we haven’t mentioned), and his records have been included in the most important compilations in the world. And many internet magazines as well, among others: progressive-house.com; residentadvisor.com.au, ….. Estimated as revelation in the worldwide underground dance outline, he is now getting ready to let his musical and technical background (he defines it like this: “house music by the most disparate musical influences”) to be heard in clubs all over the world. He has lately been interviewed by RAI RADIO 2 (Italian national Radio station) during the program “Weekendance” and by the prestigious “Xpander.nl”. Danny Tenaglia has esplicitly given a “10/10” to his activity as a producer and to his creativity… He is now starting his own label which name is “SCREEN RECORDINGS” and aims to print projects of musical quality closely linked to visual images. This year, Stefano, together with the Mas Collective (the name of the three of them is Mad Drivers), has realized a single with Marc Almond which is to be released very soon.
