    SOULHEAVEN
    London-Ibiza

    Compiled & Mixed by
    ‘Little Louie’ Vega (MAW)
    released mid October 2003
    on suSU

Two years ago, while playing at London’s Ministry of Sound Louie Vega unknowingly became the inspiration for house night SOULHEAVEN. Since then the night has evolved into one of the best soulful house jams in London, and Louie has gone on to become SOULHEAVEN’s international resident traveling the world and spreading the SOULHEAVEN vibe.

In this the second offering from SOULHEAVEN, Louie conveys the excitement and complexity of his live sets into two mixes inspired by the crowds of both London and Ibiza. A soul-fulled excursion of epic proportions Louie’s London mix kicks off with a production of his own featuring house luminaries Blaze ‘Brand New Day’, in this first track the standard is set and Louie heads off into the soulonic tones of Shaun Escoffrey’s ‘Days Like This’, followed by the Copyright Mix of Masters At Work classic ‘I Can’t Get No Sleep’ – Ouch! Feel the pain as Vega gets into the mix and note: Louie’s mixes are lengthy, skilled and precise, a DJs DJ whose two decades spinning records is put to good use and apparent in every track.

Disk two eases in with Louie’s own (Dance) Ritual Mix of George Levin’s ‘I got Somebody’, followed by the Africanized rhythms of Martin Solveig’s ‘Solief Keita’ and Vega’s own ‘Cerca De Mi’ (Beats) featuring singer, songwriter and guitarist Raul Midon. Here we journey with Louie through world house rhythms; Latin beats, African drums, guitars and the spirit of carnival. A darker, tougher and rawer edged mix exploring the vast expanse of Vega’s influences and musical landscape.

This is without doubt an awesome track selection from the underground house arena presented with an unrivalled energy and exuberance, Vega’s innate desire to make people dance dominates every one of his sets, inspiring him to thrill and excite every crowd that comes to hear him play from London to Ibiza.
This CD is a must for any Real House Music lover!

I love my Little Louie Vega
