Jeff Mills and Paul Woolford

Another huge one for System, simple as… December 5th
will see them host Detroit pioneer Jeff Mills and Leeds boy
Paul Woolford for a night of no holds barred techno.
Known for his ability to melt together techno wax at an
unmatched pace (up to seventy records an hour, no less),
Mills is a visionary and always has been. His Axis label has
a consistently high quality output, his membership of
legendary techno collective Underground Resistance still
has influence on the scene today, and his ability on the
decks is second to none.
Tonight he will pummel the bass bins of Mint’s incredible
Funktion One using three decks and a Roland R-909 drum
machine during what will be an incredible and rare audio-
visual experience. Mills is known to make bespoke tracks,
tools and compositions for each gig he plays, so prepare to
be impressed.
Local man Woolford (aka Bobby Peru) has risen through
the ranks from Back to Basics resident, to be the man
behind dance floor smashes like ‘Erotic Discourse’ and on
to be resident at institutions like Space out in Ibiza. Known
for bringing an air of artistry to electronic culture, Woolford
runs his own Intimacy imprint which has seen him work
with the likes of Morgan Geist, DFA, DJ Hell, The Juan
Maclean and many more in recent times: a prodigious
talent for sure.
On-point resident Cormac also spins tonight, as will the
heads of all those in attendance at the sheer deck dexterity
of tonight’s headliner. Add into an already frenetic mix the
blasts of dry ice, flashes of colour from the LED disco panel
which hovers above the dance floor and a boxy club which
forms the perfect cocoon for underground heads to get
down in, and you’ve another perfect System…
