@ KERBCRAWLER, AQUATITE HOUSE, ALPHA GARAGE,

    WATER LANE, LEEDS, LS11 9UD

    http://www.kerbcrawler.net

    Boo-ya: The
    Mixmag Tour is back
    , away from prying
eyes and at a venue they’ll damn sure put their stamp all over. Kerbcrawler, Leeds’
abandoned garage-turned-club, is surrounded by nothingness on the fringe of the
city centre, but will become a colourful world of its own when a parade of electronic
talent storms through its doors on Saturday October 3rd.

Now fully transformed into a shiny nightbox, the spot on sonics of the old
garage penetrate every corner of the club, and keep every foot on the
dancefloor moving. For tonight only, the backyard will be covered; will have
its own rude soundsystem; will have projections on the wall and will be heated
to form the second of three rooms. With freshers fortnight ending tonight,
Kerbcrawler is set to turn into a living, breathing, raving monster writhing
about to the best sounds of 2009.

There’s music for tech heads, indie types, bass lovers, electro animals, house
hounds…all of whom will stand shoulder to shoulder, shift shape after shape
and breathe life into an Autumnal evening until the dark hours of early
morning. With such an array of DJs, such a potpourri of sound, you’re as likely
to hear your favourite track, as you are to discover a new fancy altogether.

As well as an anything goes DJ set from Friendly Fires and Hot Chip in the Mixmag Arena,
there’ll be a house and techno set from production and remix wizard Riton,
along with 4/4 and crunchy breaks from Evil 9 (regularly found at Fabric, London), the
raved-up folktronica and minimal electro pop of Crystal Fighters and a set from Radio 1’s Jaymo and
    Andy George
. Mixmag tour residents, the big room tech house spinning
    duo that is I:
    AM
    , also play.

Local champs Back2Mine host the second room, serving up what this northern city
loves best… (not gravy, but) slice after slice of knife edged electro from
the likes of Toolroom and Ministry man D.Ramirez,
Kiss da Funk resident Luke Pompey and Back2Mine residents D&G.

And finally, a sample of the White Isle’s purest underground hedonism is on
offer in room three, courtesy of techno rebels Ketoloco and their Ibiza Reunion
Arena. Joining the dots between deep stuff and dirty stuff will be Bigger Than Jesus (whose tunes the likes of Timo Mass and John Dahlback
aren’t afraid to drop), the Ketoloco residents and the Panorama DJs.

In a club which is big enough to not be cramped, but small enough to feel up
close and personal to both each other, and the music, and with a more varied
spread than Theo Paphitis’ investment portfolio, this Mixmag party puts others
    to shame.
