#26275 |Attention House Music Intellects,
This is your Host, DJ Romell Chilly C again with another exciting
show!!! Tune in this week for some exclusive mixes by the one
and only Lloyd Dev & of-course, yours truly. I thought I’d put a
mix together for the occasion.
This show is a dedication all the true House DJs and to all the
years me and Lloyd have been true House head DJ’s.
Lloyd Dev’s mix has smooth soulful flavor with a bit true
conscience. This mix is will keep you standing and feeling the
vibe!! Lloyd Dev is a true house pioneer!!!! DONT MISS IT!
As for my mix, I’ll Just let you hear for yourself. What I can say
it is all LOVE!
As for some of the history me Lloyd have together. I can
remember back in the mid to late 80’s, cold nights on Chicago’s
CTA transit busses carrying crates of records with head phones
dangling off our necks to and from WKKC Radio station. Me &
Lloyd Dev. still laugh about that today. I truly appreciate these
days because they kept me out of the streets. I can also
remember taking our paychecks. and going to record stores like
Imports records, Gramophone records in Chicago & JR’s Music
World in the Evergreen plaza. We used to spend most of our
money buying double copies of 12-inch house cuts lol. At that
time 12-inch domestic records ran about 4 or five bucks in
today it is almost double that!

#26277 |Attention House Music People,
I got another hot show for ya!!! This week be sure to check out
mixes from DJ Kim Lightfoot & Artist/Producer Sean Smith. I
was able to speak with Sean Smith at this year’s Chosen Few
Picnic in Chicago.
A true student of the game, DJ Kim Lightfoot has been a music
collector and turntable artist for most of his life, yet somehow
remains one of Brooklyn’s best-kept secrets. With a cult
following that stretches as far as the Land of the Rising Sun but
that was born in the streets of Brooklyn, those who know about
this deep and funny artist, know a party with him on the ones-
and-twos is always a night to remember. In his first full-length
interview, Kim shares the stories of his early days, his
memories about classic Brooklyn dance music flavor and
personal pictures from his many trips to Japan. The best part
about this humble music maestro is that he’s not afraid to give
props to those who inspired and supported him along the way,
while he outlines the blueprint for success as a result of very
hard work.
Kim’s  Mix has a creative twist with a heavy body moving
groove!!! Check it out on the show!!
Sean Smith is ranked among Chicago’s top DJ’s as well as
producers. Sean began spinning at the age of 13, and has since
performed with legends Mike Dearborn, Farley Jackmaster Funk,
Armando, Ron Carroll, Pharris Thomas, Lil’ John Coleman, Paul
Johnson, Boo Williams and many other well known artists. Sean
has spun at several of Chicago’s hottest nightclubs, which
include: The Budda Lounge, Fuse, Clubhouse, Saunami,
Sinnabar, Spy Bar, Beviamo, Nocturnal, Café Dolce, Betty’s,
Red Dog, Why Knot, Dragon Fly, Spot 6, Zentra, Beviamos,
Subterranean, as well as numerous private parties and after-
hour spots.
Sean moved from his native Chicago to Grambling, Louisiana
in1993. Immediately Sean hosted his own mix show on KGRM
91.5 FM, as well as doing guest spots on K98 FM. Sean built a
solid name for himself by performing at clubs such as
Renaissance, Club H2O, Club Millennium, and Lacies.
After Graduating in 1998 from Grambling State University with a
bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and moving back to
Chicago, he put out a record with MFON called “Ron Hardy’s
Resurrection†on SOMA UK. This song got a lot of attention not
only in his hometown Chicago but in Europe as well.
As for Sean’s mix, Now I truly now why he is a “Smooth Agentâ€.

#26278 |Hello again house people,
I am back again with another hot show!! This week I will feature
a mix by yours truly DJ Romell Chilly C. In addition I will also
feature a mix by Lil’ Louie Vega. Also, I’ve got a special treat for
all the lovers of that old-school house hit “You Used To Hold
Me”. Check out the show to find out!!
A New York, USA-based DJ, Vega’s career began at high school
at the age of 18, after watching his friends spin records. He
played high school parties before eventually establishing his
own label. He went on to DJ at the Devil’s Nest (regarded as the
birthplace of the New York ‘freestyle’ approach, alongside TKA
and Sa-Fire), then Hearthrob and 1018. By the time he had
reached the 4,000 capacity Studio 54 Todd Terry passed Vega
his new mixes to try out on the crowd. His first remix job was
‘Running’ by Information Society, then Noel’s ‘Silent Morning’.
He even worked Debbie Gibson ‘s first record. He began his
own-name productions with the instrumental ‘Don’t Tell Me’ for
SBK Records in 1989 and ‘Keep On Pumpin’ It Up’ (as Freestyle
Orchestra), before signing to CBS Records’ subsidiary WTG
Records with Latin singer Marc Anthony. He had previously been
commissioned to write songs for the movie East Side Story,
where he first met the singer. Together they hooked up for a
Latin R&B flavoured album and single, ‘Ride On The Rhythm’, a
huge club hit. He also worked with India, his girlfriend, and Todd
Terry for the latter’s ‘Todd’s Message’. Together with Barbara
Tucker, Vega instigated the Underground Network Club in New
York (he has also produced ‘Beautiful People’ for Tucker).
Despite this background as an established house star, he is
probably best known now for his work alongside Kenny ‘Dope’
Gonzalez as half of the Masters At Work remix team. He is not
to be confused with Chicago house veteran Lil’ Louis, or, for that
matter, with the Louie Vega who remixed for Lakim Shabazz,
despite the fact that both shared the same management. Vega’s
most recent remix clients include Juliet Roberts and Urban
Species.
As always Lil’ Louie Vega creative style speaks for it self. Listen
to his mix on this week’s show!!!

#26279 |Attention House Music Intellects,
Tune in this week for mixes by some of Chicago’s finest!!! In the
first hour I will feature mixes by DJ OPM. In the second hour DJ/
Vocalist Carla Starla and the one and only Jesse
Saunders.
Â
JESSE SAUNDERS
Using a blueprint of old school funk, disco, R&B, new wave,
classic rock, pop and electronic hip-hop, JESSE SAUNDERS is
the architect of the musical style known as “House Music.” He
wrote, produced and released the first documented House
record titled “ON & ON” through his own label Jes Say Records.
His next hitz “Funk U Up,” “Real Love” and the platinum selling
single “Love Can’t Turn Around,” served as the foundation for a
funky and soulful new sound in electronic music. Jesse Saunders
reigns as the ambassador for the global house craze through his
work as a DJ, producer, filmmaker and author. After a lifetime
of influential and innovative work, JESSE SAUNDERS continues
to break new ground.
Jesse’s back!!! In other words he never left!!! Lol. His mix tells it
all Be sure to check it out!!!
CARLA STARLA
If you live in Chicago and are into any type of electronic music,
you have heard Carla Starla or at least have heard of her. Her
music career started way back in Nebraska, growing up with
different crowds from punk to house, to hip hop and drum and
bass. Carla moved to Chicago twelve years ago and started
projects like The Stereotypes with Damon Keller, working with
Chicago’s own DJ Mary Jane, Lunchbox Law of Stony Island,
Julio Davis of J. Davis Trio just to name a few. Since then Carla
took things in her own hands and has been spinning deep house
and adding her own original live soulful vocals over her records.
You can also find her doing spiritual healings, or leading
meditation sessions throughout the city, all things positive. Keep
your ears open and eyes peeled and hearts open. You will get a
chance to see Carla Starla doing her thing around town
guaranteed…
Her vocals along with her mix is definitely on the spiritual side
and it will get you moving!! Listen for it this week!

the Chicago native about his new record release and his views
on House music. Listen for it this week!!!
Dave Lee made disco cool when they said “Disco is dead” and is
widely regarded as one of the founding faces of the UK garage
and house music scene. With more aliases than Smith and
Jones, who on earth is the real Dave Lee? Is it Joey or is it
Dave, the world may never know! Lol.

#26282 |Attention House Music Intellects,
This is you main man Romell Chilly C. back again with another
hot show!! This week’s mixers are Chicago’s own Terry Hunter
and a little something for my house lovers from me.
Terry began his career in the music industry as a mobile disc
jockey working with some of Chicago’s top djs and promotion
companies. Gaining a vast array of knowledge, technique and
experience, Terry was ready to debut onto the scene with his
first release. The song was a house track entitled “Madness.” “I
created a big buzz on the record by playing it myself at various
parties”, Terry states, … “it started out as a basement track, but
became much more!”, just as many legendary house tracks did.
But this wasnt enough for Terry.
Terry then teamed up with the Music Plant, and began traveling
on world wide tours as a renowned DJ. He has also gained a
reputation as a well known Producer and Remixer. His
Discography lists many remixes for major artists s uch as,
Michael Jackson, Dina Carroll, Ten City, Zhane, Mary J. Blige,
Brownstone, India, Georgie Porgie, Crystal Waters, Enrique
Iglesias. He has produced such classics as: “Symphony Of Love”
and “When I Fell In Luv,” plus the pop hit from Georgie Porgie,
“I’m In Love”. Gaining further exposure with his club hit
“Harvest for the World” released through RCA, he continuous
this great momentum with his current Music Plant release
entitled “Off The Wall.” Terry is currently a spokesperson for
Numark and is now working on his first album, scheduled for
release by fall of 2001.
With talent the likes of Terry Hunter, he is set to become a
leader in the new wave of music, which will lead us all through
the millennium.
It was cool to check out Terry at this year’s Chicago Summer
Dance. His mix this week will grow on you!! Enjoy!!!!
DJ. Romell Chilly C a Dusable (Chicago) city native, started Djing
at family gatherings and house parties here in his home town
back in 1984. Inspired by his cousin Erinie Singleton, former
v.p. of black music sales of Warner Brothers records. Also
inspired by DJs like Farley Jackmaster Funk, Scott Smokin’Sills,
Pink House, Walter Get Down Brown & Brian Frazier just to
name a few.
Romell got his start in radio and production around 1986 when
he met up with his close friend/brother  DJ. Lloyd Dev at Percy
L. Jullian High school. Brother Lloyd introduced Romell to a radio
station known as Chicago’s Power House WKKC 89.3 FM. From
there a his first mix tape was submitted to Program Director Mr.
James Kelly. From 1986-1989 Â then on Romell was a one of the
star members of the young people’s radio network.  He
graduated and became a host/mixer of WKKC’s Friday Night
Audio. Romell was often complemented by many for his
announcing voice. He was invited to sit in and co-host with
Frankie Lay & Romoneski Love on a major black orientated
station WGCI in Chicago. Romell also filled in on Pink House’s
popular Hip-Hop show Rap house, Bobby Que Bobby’s Sunday
House Show and many other shows on WKKC. From 1992-1998
Romell went on to host his own show called the Saturday Dance
Diversion on St. Xavier University’s Radio Station WXAV 88.3 in
Chicago. It was later named “The Showâ€. Here he produced live
on air Hip-HOP & House music sets. He featured/produced DJs
from Chicago like, DJ J.R. Jam, DJ J.M. 3, DJ Master C., Rock Da
House Rod, Quick Mix Mike, DJ Disco, DJ Disco Dean, Smooth B.
and many more.
From 1996 to 2005 Romell Chilly C. teamed up again with
Brother Lloyd Dev to produce a syndicated radio show called
The Underground Radio Network. Currently Romell is still active
in House music and radio by Producing  the popular “Chilly’s
Pick Mix Of The Week†and working diligently with Lloyd Dev and
the Chicago House Radio Crew to help produce one of the
fastest growing internet House radio stations in the world!!!!
As for my mix called anything goes I’ll just say, “I like to be
spontaneous in my style so you can feel it.â€

#26284 |Hello again House people,
I’ve got another hot show for you this week. Check out the
mixes by Chicago’s own Boo Williams and Jam Master K a
resident DJ from Chicago House Radio.
?
<img src="http://c-24-14-82-112.hsd1.il.comcast/~romchill/
images-1.jpg”>
Boo Williams is the owner of some pretty serious credentials.
Numerous classic house releases and relentless DJ touring has
made this man into the fixture of US Deep House Music that we
know him to be. His world-wide appearances from Ministry of
Sound (London), Fuse (Brussels), and all the way to E-Work
(Berlin) and his recent headlining appearance at the Homelands
Festival (Ireland) where Boo held House Music court with 40,000
captive listeners, have all made a lasting impression on
everyone within earshot. But it was his constant historic
appearances at the Chicago legendary spots that made him a
card-carrying member of the old school. From The Powerhouse
(where Lil’ Louis ,Frankie Knuckles , and Ron Hardy were known
to tread) to The Hummingbird and Gentle Persuasion and hotels
like The Bismarck, The Ascot, and The Congress, Boo has been
making his mark in Deep House since the days that it began
(back when the “Saturday Night Live, Ain’t No Jive, Chicago
Dance Party†ruled the airwaves on WBMX).
His mix is like a breath of fresh air “Soulful and Deepâ€. Don’t
miss it this week!!!!
<img src="http://c-24-14-82-112.hsd1.il.comcast/~romchill/
GERALDKELLY25.jpg”>
?
Gerald Kelly, better known as Jam Master ‘K’ to his listening
audience, started mixing in 1984. He came up with his radio
name from his meeting of childhood idol Jam Master ‘J’ from the
rap group Run DMC, when his older brother James C. Kelly
introduced him to Walter “Get Down†Brownâ€, who took him in to
meet them. He chose the name Jam Master “K†to show love he
had for Jam Master “Jâ€, who had an impact on him being a DJ,
and performer. After graduating from high school in 1990,
Gerald attended Kennedy-King College and major in television/
radio broadcasting where he continued to work with the radio
station, WKKC 89.3 fm, on the college show called “Friday Night
Audio†from 1990 until 1996. Gerald also started and R&B
group in 1991 called “Another Choice†where he’s the lead
singer, writer and producer of the group from 1990 to present.
Gerald A. Kelly, and with the help of Kamal “J-Kizzle†Sharif,
produced 5 Hip Hop / R&B albums, including two released in
1991, 1996, 1994, 1999, & 2005. The group is producing music
and has just finished their 5th album titled “ALWAYSâ€. He is also
currently working with the new Internet radio station,
ChicagoHouseRadio.com, founded by Lloyd Bowman better
known as Lloyd Dev, since December 15th, 2004. Gerald’s
future endeavors are to own his own F.M. radio station as well
as continue to work on his music career. “WE ARE ONLY HERE
FOR A LITTLE WHILE, AND THEN WE ARE GONE FOREVER, LIVE
SMART, LIVE WELL, BE BLESSED & LEAVE A LEGACY!†Inspired
By Gerald Kelly.

#26286 |Attention House Music Intellects,
I hope everyone had a safe and great holliday season. Just wanted

Attention House Music Intellects,
I got another soulful show for you to enjoy this week. So kick back,
relax or get yo ass up and dance to this week’s line up!! This week’s
mixers are DJ Master Hak & DJ Leonard Part Sixx.
From his talents as remixer on artists such as Linda Clifford,
Question, and Sean Smith to his weekly Heart & Soul parties and his
weekly radio mixes on WCRX & WKKC in Chicago, Leonard has been
able to reach a new generation of dance music lovers, while staying
true to the foundations of Black Underground Dance Music. “I like to
think that my mixes keep the musical vision of an artist intact, but
also helps give it a new life of its own, through the positive energy
that I put into it,” Part Sixx said. While his mixing style is geared
towards today’s Deep House Music scene, his musical roots goes
much deeper.
His uncle, Rudolph Browner, was a songwriter for local R&B legend
Garland Green. “I was around musicians all my life. He made it a
point to make music a part of my life. My grandmother was a big Jazz
buff, so I developed my love for the art of free musical expression,”
he said. While attending Chicago’s Mendel Catholic Prep, Leonard
caught the D.J. bug. “Life began for me at the sight of two turntables
& a mixer. It was a mind-altering experience. And going to clubs like
the Warehouse and the Music Box opened up my world to
underground dance music and its culture,” he said. At that point,
deejaying became his obsession. He did what he could to raise
money for equipment, from shoveling snow to mowing lawns. He was
about to dip into his college fund, when his mom came to the rescue
& gave him her own money to purchase his equipment.
Self-taught to spin, he jumped into it with both turntables at hand. He
began spinning anywhere he could, from high school functions to
private parties & such. “Some of my first parties I thought sucked,
but I enjoyed watching the people dance to my music. It was audio
magic & I was the magician,” he said. While playing at a private
party, Leonard met one of the top local club jocks of that time, the
late Michael McNeal, who spun at some of Chicago’s underground
Gay dance clubs, such as The Bitter End, Carol’s Speakeasy and the
Music Box. Quickly recognizing his potential, he took Leonard on as
his protge, as well as becoming his best friend. “Michael was my big
brother. He not only taught me about the basics of turntabling, but of
life. I considered him family,” he said.
Adventures in the recording studio led Leonard west to Los Angeles.
While there, he redefined his mixing style. He arrived as West Coast
Hip-Hop was coming into its own. He cut his teeth on engineering &
programming for numerous groups such as C.O.D., Arabian Prince &
others. When his grandmother became ill, Leonard returned to
Chicago. “I missed Chicago, but by this time, the music scene had
changed. House became worldwide and Chicago was left behind. I
was getting calls from R&B and hip-hop producers for work. I worked
on remixes for Subway, Adina Howard, 702 and others. My rep for
hot drum programming & sampling has kept me busy ever since,” he
said.
But Leonard’s love for House Music remained. “I felt that a lot of the
younger DJs weren’t give people the experience that I felt, when I
was going to the clubs. Some of the essence was missing. I just want
to do my part to bring it back,” he said. He started his own party
promotion company, Good For Da’ Soul Promotions, and began
throwing his own parties. His weekly DJ Free-4-All and Heart & Soul
parties have been the talk of Chicago’s reemerging House Music
scene and are a staple on House Music websites worldwide, such as
Deep House Page.com and Bring The Heat.com.
Leonard Part Sixx. Deejay, remixer, producer, engineer, promoter.
He’s becoming a force to be reckoned with in the House Music scene.
His mix this week has the sound of a DJ that really knows his music.
It will grow on you!! Check it out on the show.
Mixologist DJ Master Hak, Born and raised in Newark NJ from a family
that always had a passion for music. I’m a 38yr. old carpenter now
living in Charleston SC. 21 Years ago I had a taste of the vibe. It was
only then I knew it was just a matter of time and money before I had
my own DJ setup. After 2 years of  masterminding the basic skills of
mixing it then became a reality for me. I started listening to DJ’s like
Tony Humphries, Merlin Bobb, Naeem Johnson and Timmy Regisford.
“These brothers had the Tri-State rockin” It was my drive and
perseverance I just had to hear Tony Humphries Live at Club
Zanzibar (NJ)…..I realized that I wanted to be a DJ. From that point I
knew I had to step up my mixing skills. Â Â Â Â Â After spinnin’ music with
DJ’s like Bruce Jeffers (PhunkFarmers), Tony V. (Toy Factory),
Ceasar Kelley (Shakey Stairs Prod), Eddie Satin, Hippie T. , Johnny
Dangerous and  DJ Camacho just to name a few with the inspiration
from DJ’s like Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Frankie Knuckles, Todd
Terry, Kerri Chandler and Mark Grant. 21 Years strong and I am still
doing what I love most…..”Mixin’ That Damn Thang”
As for his mix this week. It is truly pleasurable soulful experience.
You can definitely cool out on this mix. Enjoy!!!
