“Oakie
created stadium dance, Fatboy pushed things forward but Tiësto has made it an
artform.” – MIXMAG
Tiesto returns to
Victoria Park London with special guests Pendulum!!!FRESH OFF THE BACK OF HIS SENSATIONAL
UK TOURTiësto
RETURNS TO LONDON’S VICTORIA PARK FOR
HIS SPECTACULAR LIVE EVENT30th JULY 2010
FEATURING VERY SPECIAL GUESTS
PENDULUM
Fresh
of the back of the sensational ‘Kaleidoscope’ UK tour; Tiësto is announcing a
return to London’s Victoria Park on 30th July 2010 following last
years phenomenal outdoor gig that attracted over 25,000 of the UK’s biggest
clubbers.Now
featuring the astounding sound and visuals that accompanied the ‘Kaleidoscope’
tour, this years show is set to be even bigger, and sees him invite as very
special guests the thrilling electo-rockers Pendulum, for what will be the most
exciting live
show
this summer. Pendulum will be performing material from their new album ‘Immersion’ out on 24th
MayTiësto
says: “Last year’s show in Victoria Park was so amazing. I can’t
wait to do it again! I’ll be playing a lot of new tracks and bringing
some special production. I’m also excited that Pendulum is going to be on
the bill. Those guys put on a great live show.”In
addition to the mouth watering line up on the main stage, this event will see
the bible of dance – Mixmag – return to this year’s event bringing the noise on
site in their Mixmag arena which will undoubtedly add colossal volume to this
epic event.If that
wasn’t enough, London’s freshest club night – House Rules, will be bringing
their now famous brand of non-stop partying. Their nights have already become
legendary within London, with their all nighters and packed after parties for
the likes of Swedish House Mafia. That night saw Mafia member Steve Angello
take the decks for an impromptu set with his DJ bother AN21 in a thrilling
House Rules floor shaker.In 2009
Tiësto became the first DJ to headline Victoria Park, earning rave reviews for
his blistering show and euphoric atmosphere.“The
entire set was accompanied by a massive light show, smoke machines and a
confetti cannon that made the entire night worth every penny spent on it.â€Â
– RIVMIXX“Along
with a spectacular display of confetti cannons, light shows and smoke machines,
Tiësto effortlessly lived up to his superstar status and left clamouring for
his next show. A huge night, from an equally huge act, and one that will only
serve to reaffirm his status as the biggest jock on the planet.†– DEFECTED“Quite
simply this was the best one day festival I’d been to in years†– HARDER
FASTER“Tiësto
clearly loves his music and he’s not scared to include some variety in his set,
he doesn’t stop smiling, and I reckon we’ll be back again next year if he’s upfor
it…†– EFESTIVALS“For
a DJ of firsts, he couldn’t have set the bar any higher for those who might try
to follow in his footsteps and host an open-air party in London to rival this.
If he ever returns even he might struggle to recapture the epic feel of this
July evening.†– ZAP! BANG! MAGAZINE“I’d
be surprised if this event didn’t appear on the UK festival list as a regular
from now on.†– THE MIRRORThe UK
leg of the ‘Kaleidoscope’ became one of the most extravagant tours that the UK
have ever seen. The shows were no-holds-barred, off the wall productions hosted
by the world’s premiere DJ. In fact, they didn’t exceed expectations so much as
blow them wide open. No expense was spared as his live shows transformed into
fantastical celebrations of dance music itself. Visuals were kicked up into
another level entirely, lightshows beamed out as if into space, and of course Tiësto’s
wondrously euphoric brand of dance reduced the audience to a sweaty frenzy.Tiësto is a man of “firstsâ€Â. He was the first DJ to
sell out dates at the Brixton Academy (two nights in a row), Alexandra Palace,
the O2 Arena, and last summer he was the first DJ to headline and sell-out a
truly wondrous show at Victoria Park, London to over 25,000 fans. He is the
only DJ ever to sell out a three-month residency at Priviledge in Ibiza last
summer, where he played to over 100,000 people and now Tiësto is coming back in
the UK, straight off the back of his critically acclaimed sell out shows across
England, Scotland and Wales.Indeed,
add to the list, writing and performing music for the 2004 Olympics for an
audience over 4 Billion. Remixing everyone from Britney Spears to The Yeah Yeah
Yeahs, selling out a 150 date world tour, collecting awards and nominations
from the Grammy’s and MTV Music Awards, getting a wax statue at Madame
Tussauds. To anyone else, any one of these milestones might sound
staggering, but to the one-man electronic artist, producer and DJ phenomenon
known as Tiësto, it’s just another regular day in the life.Tiesto’s fourth studio album ‘Kaleidoscope’ featuring
collaborations with an all star cast of Nelly Furtado, Kele Okereke (Bloc
Party), Jonsi (Sigur Ros) and Calvin Harris) s out now on [PIAS] / Musical
Freedom. Also, listen out for the stunning single ‘Who Wants To Be Alone’
featuring Nelly Furtado, currently being hammered by the UK radio stations.
