This is what i found in encyclopedia.
Intro.
House music refers to a collection of styles of electronic dance music, the earliest forms beginning in the early- to mid- 1980s.The common element of most house music is a 4/4 beat generated by a drum machine or other electronic means (such as a sampler), together with a solid (usually also electronically generated) bassline. Upon this foundation are added electronically generated sounds and samples of music such as jazz, blues and synth pop. House music has been sub-divided into a bewildering number of sub-categories, some of which are described below.

[/QUOTE]Oh I wish!!! I heard it in some underground club on it’s opening night. The only advertisement for it was posters slapped up around the town centre. It was a whole new experience for me, one that changed me forever.
Yes it was an amazing time for house music and I have many, many fond memories of way back when… but the one thing about house music is it’s always there however untrendy it seems and if you love it.. you love it! House is still amazing and inspirational all these years on!
I like what you said about music from the past creating a better future. Now THAT deserves respect!

I don’t know how people in italy can call house a drum plus a bass…That is not house, it’s something that kills the ears! The electro house is boring, very boring, and easy to do… What a difference with artists like Barbara Tucker or Dave Morales…

yeah u re right!
But u know, italy was very important during the 70’s and 80’s for all the italo-disco and afro/funky world..
So, Clubculture is deeply rooted in italy, in the mind of the people, like was in America in the 80’s..
Its very sad to ear today that here in italy almost all is dead, boring music, few real producers, and a clubculture oriented to the money, glam, and other shits, and NOT to real real thang that really counts, the “Culture” (creativity, knowledge and musical consciousness)..
I can tell that im lucky in that way, because i live in Perugia, and i have the possibily to ear some real good music, from NY’s 80 to the Chicago House and Detroit Techno to the actual goodness..
But there is not like here in the rest of Italy, and that its sooo sad!
From my point of view, the only thing that we can do is..
Try to change the situation.
#26087 |Let me tell you about House music.
Back in the 80’s the general population revolted against the major
labels. Unlike the current generation we stood up against the
marketing machine and did our own thing. Today you guys just wait
for the next promotion to turn up on your Cornflake packet.
Kids purchased a second-hand Atari and a hooky copy of Cubase and
set to work creating a real alternitive. OK, it sounded shit but it had
feeling. For about 2 years this sound destroyed the major label
nonsense and captured the imagination of a generation. 2 years
kids, that’s all it took until the rich kids brought in and sold out to EMI
and the other majors. Lables like AMPM and Postiva immediatly set
to work destroying ‘House’ music and by 1992 all but f**ked it into
the ground with the full support of the big players.
Since then small labels have come and gone but in the main have
been crucified by brainless muppets like you who have taken the bait
from positiva and friends.
House music was short lived, it was fun while it lasted but is now a
playground for rich kids funded by wealthy parents.
Thanks for your support f**k heads!
